DescriptionThe whole story▼
Inazuma is the Japanese word for lightning, a lively name for a calm and practical motorcycle. Suzuki's GW250 Inazuma is a small naked bike with a twin-cylinder engine and an upright seating position, bought by many riders for commuting and ridden through every season. The Accossato EDF014 is a front brake lever for the Inazuma of 2013 to 2017: machined from aluminium, anodised with a black hub and a coloured blade, and adjustable for its distance from the grip.
Key Features
- Front brake lever for the Suzuki GW250 Inazuma, 2013 to 2017
- Mounts on the original master cylinder
- Distance to the grip adjustable for thin or thick gloves
- Standard blade approximately 138 mm; short and long versions in selected colours
- Black, blue, red, orange, gold, silver or green blade
- CNC-machined aluminium with anodised finish
- Rigid one-piece design without a folding joint
Construction and Material Quality
Rain, spray and road dirt are everyday conditions for a commuter's controls. The EDF014 is machined from aluminium on CNC machines and then anodised, which gives it a surface that is part of the metal: the oxide layer is harder than the aluminium beneath it and carries the colour within, so there is no paint to lift at the edges after a wet winter. The hub is black, the blade coloured, and the two form one rigid lever with no folding joint in which grime could settle.
Rain, Gloves and a Gentle Hand
On a wet road the tyres still grip better than many riders expect, provided the load arrives smoothly. Braking in the rain is therefore less about strength and more about the opening moment: a soft, early application that settles the front before the pressure rises. Waterproof gloves make that harder, because they are thicker and stiffer and dull the feel at the fingertips. When the gloves change, the lever position should change with them. Moving the blade a little further out leaves room for the bulkier material, so the fingers wrap around the blade instead of meeting it half-closed. Before the first wet ride on the Inazuma, try the new setting in the dry, so that it already feels familiar when the road is slippery. The standard blade is made in all seven colours; riders with large hands in winter gloves may prefer the long version in blue, gold, green or orange.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato lists the EDF014 for the GW 250 Inazuma from 2013 to 2017. The lever takes the place of the stock front brake lever on the original master cylinder. No matching Accossato clutch lever is listed for the Inazuma, so this is a single lever for the right side of the bar rather than half of a pair. Short blades are made in blue, gold, green, orange and silver; black and red come only in the standard length.
Road Approval
Use on German public roads is not covered by a documented ABE. The EDF014 is sold for the track.
