The Suzuki GSX250R gives newer riders the look of a GSX-R sports bike without the crouch of a race replica: the fairing is sporty, the seating position more relaxed than it appears, and the small parallel twin is gentle enough for a first road motorcycle. Many owners are in their first seasons, which is exactly when braking habits take shape. The Accossato EDF014 replaces the front brake lever of the 2017 to 2020 GSX250R with a CNC-machined aluminium lever that can be set closer to the grip and ordered in three lengths.

Construction and Material Quality
On a small sports bike the controls are close to the eye, and a lever cut on CNC machines looks the part: clean edges, an even surface and a crisp transition between hub and blade. The EDF014 is machined from aluminium in exactly that way and then anodised. Its hub, which carries the pivot and the reach adjuster, stays black whichever colour you choose for the blade. Nothing about the blade folds; it is a single, stiff piece from the pivot to the tip, which gives a new rider the same feedback every time the brake is used.
Practising the Emergency Stop
Rider training courses return again and again to one exercise: stopping hard, in a straight line, from a steady speed. Done well, it begins with a quick but progressive build-up of pressure on the front lever while the rear brake works alongside, and it ends with the eyes up and a foot on the ground. What decides the first metres is the time between the decision to stop and the moment the pads start to bite, and part of that time is spent moving the fingers onto the lever. If the blade stands far from the grip, the hand has to open wide before it can close. The adjuster on the EDF014 brings the lever in until it meets the fingers without a stretch, whether they wear thin summer gloves or thicker ones. It is worth repeating the exercise in an empty car park after fitting, so that the new lever position becomes automatic before it is needed in traffic.
Which Length Suits a First Bike
The standard blade is the closest match to the original GSX250R lever and the sensible starting point. Riders who already brake with two fingers and keep the others on the throttle can go shorter; the short blade, made in five colours, ends before the outer fingers. The long version suits riders with large hands who brake with all four fingers.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato lists the EDF014 for the GSX250R from 2017 to 2020. Its catalogue carries two entries for the bike, GSX 250 RA and GSX-R 250, each for those four years, and in both cases the lever takes the place of the stock one on the original master cylinder. The clutch lever for the same years is the ESS248.
Road Approval
A German ABE has not been documented for the EDF014; the lever is sold for circuit use.
