How to measure your helmet size correctly: To find the right helmet size, measure your head circumference with a flexible tape measure.
It is important that the tape measure runs around the widest part of the head – only then will you get a correct result.
Place the tape measure at the front, about 1–2 cm above the eyebrows, and run it along the sides above the ears.
At the back, the tape must run over the largest part of the back of the head (not too low on the neck). The tape may run slightly at an angle – what matters is that it sits all the way around the largest points of the head.
Make sure the tape measure sits snugly but does not dig in. Measure 2–3 times for the most accurate result. You can then compare the measured value in centimetres (cm) with our size chart.
Tips for an accurate result
- Keep hair flat (e.g. do not measure over a voluminous hairstyle)
- Keep the tape horizontal, i.e. along the largest circumference
- Do not measure too loosely
- For values between two sizes:
→ usually choose the larger size (depending on helmet model / fit)
Important note on fit
The right helmet should fit firmly without causing uncomfortable pressure points.
A new helmet may feel a little tighter at first, as the inner lining adapts slightly over time.

AIM+ Shell — Precision-Engineered for the Track
The AIM+ construction is unique to Shoei's top-tier race products. By weaving glass fibres, organic fibres and high-performance fibre materials into a single integrated matrix, the shell achieves a level of energy absorption and structural rigidity that outperforms conventional composite construction. Four shell sizes ensure the geometry is never compromised by padding alone, delivering a genuinely precise fit across the XS-to-XXL size run.
The multi-density EPS liner works in concert with the shell to manage impact energy, while the double-D retention system satisfies both ECE 22.06 road regulations and FIM FRHPhe-01 circuit homologation requirements. For anyone racing under FIM or national series regulations, that dual certification matters.
Aerodynamics — Over 150 Wind-Tunnel Refinements
Shoei reshaped every surface of the X-SPR PRO to chase stability at triple-digit speeds. A new rear-head stabiliser, lateral fins for directional stability and a refined spoiler work together to pin the helmet to your head without loading the neck muscles. The result is exceptional composure at 350 km/h-plus, reduced fatigue during long stints and maximum control in every cornering scenario.
Ventilation — Engineered for the Racing Tuck
Most helmets are designed for an upright riding position. The X-SPR PRO's 13-opening ventilation architecture is calibrated specifically for the deeply tucked race crouch. Seven precisely aligned inlets channel air through a deeply branched internal duct network, while six exhaust ports expel warm air efficiently. The redesigned cheek-pad ventilation delivers close to double the airflow of the outgoing model — critical for concentration in summer heat races and endurance events.
Comfort at Race Pace
The X-SPR PRO's interior is designed around the ergonomics of a MotoGP rider in full lean. A modular crown pad with pockets for individual inserts lets you dial in the crown height, while the 3D-shaped cheek pads offer 16 % more contact area for a secure, even hold. An adjustable seating angle extends the vertical field of view from the riding position. All interior materials are quick-drying and skin-friendly, and the complete liner is removable and machine-washable.
CWR-F2R Visor — Clarity at Every Lean Angle
The CWR-F2R visor was developed hand-in-hand with the helmet's geometry. The enlarged vertical field of view means you retain full visual awareness even at extreme lean angles and with your chin on the tank. The dual safety lock prevents inadvertent opening at speed, tear-off posts are positioned outside the main sight line to keep the view unobstructed, and the included Pinlock EVO insert eliminates fogging in cool morning sessions or changing conditions.
