DescriptionThe whole story▼
The GSX-S950 was Suzuki's answer to a common question: what can a rider with an A2 licence buy that will still feel like a proper big bike once the restriction comes off? It shares its four-cylinder character with the GSX-S1000 and can be ridden restricted first and in full later. The brake lever is one of the controls a rider lives with through both stages. Accossato lists its EDF014 for the GSX-S950 from 2022 to 2024: CNC-machined aluminium on the original master cylinder, with adjustable reach.
Key Features
- Brake lever for the Suzuki GSX-S950, 2022 to 2024
- Mounts on the original master cylinder
- Adjustable reach for smaller or larger hands
- Standard length approximately 138 mm, short and long blades in selected colours
- Anodised, CNC-machined aluminium
- Black hub, blade in one of seven colours
- No hinge, fixed blade
Construction and Material Quality
Accossato machines the EDF014 from aluminium on CNC equipment and anodises it afterwards. The anodised skin is hard and carries the colour within it: black on the hub, which houses the pivot and the reach adjuster, and the colour of your choice on the blade. The design is deliberately simple. There is no folding joint, and the blade moves only about its pivot, so the feel at the lever stays the same from the first ride to the thousandth.
The Bike You Keep After the A2 Years
Plenty of new riders spend their first years on a restricted GSX-S950 and then have the restriction removed instead of changing bikes. The motorcycle changes character at that point, and so, often, does the rider: more confident, braking later and harder, perhaps trying a first track day. An adjustable lever keeps pace with that development. Choose the length once. A short blade suits smaller hands and two-finger braking, while the standard blade leaves room for four fingers when you want them. Then let the reach follow your progress. At the start, set the EDF014 close to the grip, where a new rider's hand finds it quickly and can squeeze progressively without stretching. Later, as braking becomes firmer and more practised, many riders move the blade out a little to gain travel and a more deliberate feel. None of this needs new parts, only a few minutes with the adjuster. The GSX-S950 is still the bike you started on; the controls simply follow the rider you have become.
Fitment and Compatibility
For the GSX-S950, the EDF014 appears in Accossato's catalogue from 2022 to 2024 under the label GSX-S 950 UQ. It takes the place of the original blade and works with the stock master cylinder. The clutch side runs a little longer: the ESS248 is catalogued for this bike from 2022 to 2026. If you want black or red, note that both exist only as standard-length levers.
Road Approval
There is no German ABE on file for the EDF014, so we sell it for track use.
