DescriptionThe whole story▼
For many riders, the Bonneville SE was the motorcycle that followed years behind the wheel of a car: friendly, handsome and not intimidating. The habit that needs relearning most is braking. In a car the right foot does it all, while on a motorcycle most of the stopping comes from the right hand. The Accossato EDF014 is a machined brake lever for the Triumph Bonneville SE, listed for 2006 to 2015, whose distance to the grip can be adjusted so the front brake is easy to find and easy to meter.
Key Features
- Front brake lever for the Bonneville SE, 2006 to 2015
- Adjustable reach, so the blade can come closer to the grip
- Fits the original master cylinder
- Standard blade approximately 138 mm, short and long in several colours
- Seven anodised blade colours, hub in black
- CNC-machined aluminium
- Fixed, one-piece blade
Construction and Material Quality
Accossato does not cast this lever. It is CNC-machined from aluminium and then anodised, the hub in black and the blade in the colour you order. Machining gives clean, consistent edges where your fingers rest, and the anodised layer gives a hard, even surface that will not peel. There is no folding mechanism: the EDF014 is fixed, a single piece that passes your input straight to the master cylinder of the Bonneville SE, with the reach adjuster built into the hub.
From Four Wheels to Two
Riders who come from cars often lean on the rear brake at first, because a pedal feels familiar, and treat the front lever with caution. Yet when a motorcycle slows, its weight moves onto the front tyre, and the front brake does most of the work. Using it well means squeezing progressively: a light first touch, then a steady build, never a grab. That is far easier when the lever meets the fingers without a stretch. With the adjuster on the EDF014, the blade can be brought closer so the first contact comes early and under control, and moved out again as confidence grows. A long blade, offered in green, orange, gold and blue, spreads the effort across four fingers, which many newer riders find reassuring. A training course on your own bike, with the lever set the way you will ride, is time well spent.
Fitment and Compatibility
This lever is listed by Accossato for the Bonneville SE from 2006 to 2015 and replaces the original front brake lever on the stock master cylinder. For the clutch side of the same bike, Accossato lists the EST333, also for 2006 to 2015, which can be ordered in the same colour for a matching cockpit. Black and red brake blades are made only in the standard length, while silver comes as standard or short.
Road Approval
There is no documented German ABE for the EDF014, so we sell it as a part for track use.
