DescriptionThe whole story▼
The SV650X is Suzuki's café racer take on the SV650: a headlight cowl, a pleated seat and lower bars turn the familiar V-twin roadster into a machine that looks as if it had rolled out of a back-street workshop in the 1960s. On a bike like that, small details carry the look, and the front brake lever is one you see on every ride. The Accossato EDF014 is a CNC-machined aluminium lever for the SV650X of 2018 to 2022, anodised with a black hub and adjustable for reach.
Key Features
- Front brake lever for the Suzuki SV650X, 2018 to 2022
- Silver blade in standard or short, for a period look
- Black blade in the standard length of approximately 138 mm
- Blue, gold, green and orange in short, standard and long; red as a standard lever
- Distance to the grip adjustable
- Fits the original master cylinder
- Anodised aluminium, CNC-machined, fixed blade
Construction and Material Quality
Classic levers were often cast and then polished, which looked good until the shine faded. The EDF014 is made differently. Accossato machines it from aluminium on CNC equipment and anodises it, so the finish is an even, hard oxide layer with the colour inside it, and it keeps its appearance without any polishing. The hub around the pivot and the reach adjuster is black, the blade takes the chosen colour, and the whole lever is a single rigid part with no folding joint.
Colours in the Café Racer Tradition
The café racers of the sixties were built from whatever was at hand, and their controls tended to be plain: bare alloy, black and a little chrome. Following that tradition, silver and black are the natural choices for the SV650X. A silver blade on the black hub recalls the bare alloy levers of the period without the need for polishing; black keeps the cockpit dark and uncluttered and lets the tank and the seat do the talking. Gold is the more decorative option, often seen on custom builds that already wear gold details elsewhere. The brighter colours, from orange to green, suit owners who treat the X as a modern machine rather than a period piece. Whatever you choose, look at the bike from a few steps away before deciding: at that distance a lever reads as a dot of colour, and that dot should belong to the rest of the SV650X.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato lists the EDF014 for the SV 650 X from 2018 to 2022. The lever fits the original master cylinder and replaces the stock part. For the clutch, the ESS248 covers the same model years, so both levers can be ordered in the same finish; remember that silver is available as standard and short, black only as the standard lever.
Road Approval
There is no documented German ABE for the EDF014 on the SV650X, so it is sold for the track.
Scope of Delivery
The SV650X brake lever comes on its own, packed in an Accossato box, finished in your colour and made in your length.
