Maintenance
A translucent liner only helps if you look at it; make the OBT007 part of the pre-ride check. Beyond that the OBT007 asks nothing of you.
Why the Original Falls Short
Brake fluid absorbs water, which is why the level and the colour are worth seeing. The OBT007 keeps a clear liner behind the aluminium so the level stays visible on the Z800. At 106 g it weighs about what the plastic original does.
Fitment and Compatibility
The listing is for the Z800 and the years 2012 to 2016. Treat the Z800 fitment as an application note rather than a guarantee of a drop-in position.
In the Workshop
The OBT007 replaces an existing part on the Z800 rather than adding one. Catch the fluid, swap the reservoir, refit the hose and bleed the system before the Z800 moves. No permanent alteration to the Z800 is involved.
What You Get
LighTech ships the OBT007 complete except for the mount. Spares are listed under their own numbers rather than bundled.
Sold Separately
One thing to order alongside: the bracket. LighTech offers a front bracket (OBT008) and a rear one (OBT009), plus the OBT003 support, and all three are black only. Order the OBT007 together with a bracket and the Z800 installation is complete.
Approval and Safety
What looks like a cosmetic swap on the Z800 is a change to a safety system. The OBT007 carries no approval mark. We would rather you asked your inspection body first than found out at the next test.
