DescriptionThe whole story▼
A naked HYPERMOTARD 939 has nowhere to hide an original fluid reservoir. That is what the OBT007 does — 16 cm³ of fluid behind billet aluminium, 106 g on the bike. It is offered in 8 anodised finishes; the list is in the technical data. It goes onto the HYPERMOTARD 939 without modification and comes off again just as easily.
Key Features
- LighTech part number OBT007, listed for the Ducati HYPERMOTARD 939
- Supplied with a rubber gasket that seals the cap against leaks
- Translucent plastic liner, so the fluid level on the HYPERMOTARD 939 stays readable
- Made in Italy
- Finish changes the look of the HYPERMOTARD 939, not the fit
- Laser-engraved LighTech logo on the shell
Maintenance
Brake fluid attacks paint and anodising alike, so wipe spills off the HYPERMOTARD 939 immediately. Otherwise it is a fit-and-forget item on the HYPERMOTARD 939.
Why the Original Falls Short
The cheapest way to change the look of a cockpit is also the most visible. The OBT007 comes with a rubber gasket under the cap, which is what keeps fluid where it belongs. The bracket is a separate LighTech article and is only made in black.
What It Fits
This listing covers the Ducati HYPERMOTARD 939, 2016 to 2019. The reservoir itself is universal. What makes it fit the HYPERMOTARD 939 is the bracket and the hose, not the tank.
In the Workshop
The OBT007 goes on with the HYPERMOTARD 939 on its stand. Bleed and pressure-test the circuit on the HYPERMOTARD 939 afterwards; this is not a cosmetic part. No permanent alteration to the HYPERMOTARD 939 is involved.
Scope of Delivery
One reservoir per box, with its sealing gasket. The part number is all you need to quote for a repeat order on the HYPERMOTARD 939.
Order This With It
The OBT007 is supplied without a bracket. Three mounts exist — OBT003, OBT008 and OBT009 — and which suits the HYPERMOTARD 939 depends on where you want the tank. Tell us where you want it on the HYPERMOTARD 939 and we will put the right bracket on the order.
Approval and Safety
A fluid reservoir is part of the braking system, and German law treats it that way. LighTech supplies no type-approval document with the OBT007, and we make no approval claim for it. Track-only machines raise no approval question; a registered HYPERMOTARD 939 does.
