DescriptionThe whole story▼
A GSX-R1000R covers distance, and fluid level is something you want to read at a glance. The LighTech OBT007 is a 16 cm³ reservoir with a billet aluminium outer shell and a translucent plastic liner. There are 8 finishes to choose from, all at the same price. The 999 cc GSX-R1000R takes it with the standard fittings.
Key Features
- Colour is the only choice to make on the OBT007
- Supplied individually for the GSX-R1000R
- Laser-engraved LighTech logo on the shell
- 8 anodised finishes for the GSX-R1000R: Black, Blue, Gold, Green, Grey, Orange, Red, Silver
- Universal by design: LighTech builds one reservoir, not one per Suzuki model
- Laser-marked with the LighTech logo
The Case for Billet
Brake fluid absorbs water, which is why the level and the colour are worth seeing. Billet outside for strength and finish, plastic inside for visibility — that is the whole idea of the OBT007. On the GSX-R1000R the reservoir replaces the original box and nothing else has to move.
What It Fits
Fitment is the GSX-R1000R across 2017 to 2026. LighTech builds this reservoir as a universal part — it is not machined to the GSX-R1000R specifically, and the fit depends on where you mount it.
Looking After It
Brake fluid attacks paint and anodising alike, so wipe spills off the GSX-R1000R immediately. Beyond that the OBT007 asks nothing of you.
Fitting
The OBT007 goes on with the GSX-R1000R on its stand. Brake fluid strips paint — cover the GSX-R1000R tank and fairing before you open anything. No permanent alteration to the GSX-R1000R is involved.
Sold Separately
One thing to order alongside: the bracket. LighTech offers a front bracket (OBT008) and a rear one (OBT009), plus the OBT003 support, and all three are black only. We can advise which of the three suits your GSX-R1000R — it takes one question.
Supplied As
LighTech ships the OBT007 complete except for the mount. Packaging carries the reference, so a second order is unambiguous.
Regulations and the Hydraulic Circuit
Anything in the hydraulic circuit of a GSX-R1000R is safety-relevant by definition. We list the OBT007 without an approval claim because LighTech issues none. Ask your inspection body about the GSX-R1000R before fitting, and do not skip the bleed.
