DescriptionThe whole story▼
A CB500F shows everything, including the plastic reservoir the factory fitted. Enter the OBT007: a 16 cm³ billet reservoir at 106 g, built to replace the original box. LighTech anodises the OBT007 in 8 different colours. It changes the part of the CB500F the rider looks at most.
Key Features
- 8 colours, all at the same price
- Billet aluminium outer shell, machined from solid
- Laser-marked with the LighTech logo
- Colour is the only choice to make on the OBT007
- 106 g on the CB500F
- Laser-engraved LighTech logo on the shell
Why the Original Falls Short
The cheapest way to change the look of a cockpit is also the most visible. The OBT007 comes with a rubber gasket under the cap, which is what keeps fluid where it belongs. At 106 g it weighs about what the plastic original does.
Care and Checks
Brake fluid attacks paint and anodising alike, so wipe spills off the CB500F immediately. Beyond that the OBT007 asks nothing of you.
Application
LighTech catalogues the OBT007 for the CB500F (2013 to 2026). This is not a model-specific casting — LighTech makes one reservoir and lets the mounting decide the fit.
What You Also Need
One thing to order alongside: the bracket. Mounting hardware is a separate line: OBT008 forward, OBT009 rearward, OBT003 as the general support. Tell us where you want it on the CB500F and we will put the right bracket on the order.
Fitting
The OBT007 replaces an existing part on the CB500F rather than adding one. Bleed and pressure-test the circuit on the CB500F afterwards; this is not a cosmetic part. Re-check the fasteners after the first ride.
In the Package
LighTech ships the OBT007 complete except for the mount. Packaging carries the reference, so a second order is unambiguous.
Brake System and Road Approval
Anything in the hydraulic circuit of a CB500F is safety-relevant by definition. Nothing in the OBT007 box constitutes a type approval. Ask your inspection body about the CB500F before fitting, and do not skip the bleed.
