DescriptionThe whole story▼
Rebuilding the cockpit of a Panigale 899 usually stops at the reservoir, and it should not. Enter the OBT007: a 16 cm³ billet reservoir at 106 g, built to replace the original box. LighTech anodises the OBT007 in 8 different colours. It goes onto the Panigale 899 without modification and comes off again just as easily.
Key Features
- Reversible — the original part goes back on the Panigale 899 any time
- LighTech part number OBT007, listed for the Ducati Panigale 899
- Replaces the original plastic reservoir of the Panigale 899
- Covers the Panigale 899 across 6 model years (2012 to 2017)
- Colour is the only choice to make on the OBT007
- Supplied individually for the Panigale 899
Maintenance
Fluid darkens as it absorbs water — on the Panigale 899 that is now visible without tools. There is no service interval for the part itself.
Why the Original Falls Short
Reservoirs are a styling part for most riders and a maintenance part for the rest. At 16 cm³ the OBT007 matches the capacity the original reservoir of the Panigale 899 carries. LighTech builds one reservoir for many machines rather than one per model.
Compatibility
This listing covers the Ducati Panigale 899, 2012 to 2017. Treat the Panigale 899 fitment as an application note rather than a guarantee of a drop-in position.
In the Workshop
The OBT007 goes on with the Panigale 899 on its stand. Bleed and pressure-test the circuit on the Panigale 899 afterwards; this is not a cosmetic part. Everything removed from the Panigale 899 can go straight back on.
What You Get
LighTech ships the OBT007 complete except for the mount. LighTech keeps it as a stock item.
Sold Separately
LighTech sells the reservoir and its mount as separate articles. The brackets are listed under OBT003, OBT008 and OBT009; they differ in height and projection, not in quality. Tell us where you want it on the Panigale 899 and we will put the right bracket on the order.
Regulations and the Hydraulic Circuit
On a Panigale 899 this component carries brake or clutch fluid under pressure. The OBT007 is sold without approval documentation of any kind. If the Panigale 899 is used on public roads, treat this as a brake-system modification: inspection body first, workshop check after.
