DescriptionThe whole story▼
On a SPEED TRIPLE 1050 R the reservoir sits in plain sight at the bar, unstyled. The LighTech OBT007 is a 16 cm³ reservoir with a billet aluminium outer shell and a translucent plastic liner. Finish choice runs to 8 and changes nothing about the fit. The listing covers the SPEED TRIPLE 1050 R across 8 model years (2011 to 2018).
Key Features
- The mounting bracket is a separate LighTech item — see the note below
- 8 colours, all at the same price
- Laser-marked with the LighTech logo
- Laser-engraved LighTech logo on the shell
- Covers the SPEED TRIPLE 1050 R across 8 model years (2011 to 2018)
- Reversible — the original part goes back on the SPEED TRIPLE 1050 R any time
Why the Original Falls Short
The cheapest way to change the look of a cockpit is also the most visible. LighTech machines the OBT007 shell from billet and lines it with translucent plastic, so 16 cm³ of fluid is readable without tools. Anodised rather than painted, so washing the SPEED TRIPLE 1050 R does not dull it.
Looking After It
Change the fluid at the interval the SPEED TRIPLE 1050 R manual gives, not when it looks bad. Beyond that the OBT007 asks nothing of you.
Fitment and Compatibility
This listing covers the Triumph SPEED TRIPLE 1050 R, 2011 to 2018. This is not a model-specific casting — LighTech makes one reservoir and lets the mounting decide the fit.
What You Also Need
A mount is not included with the OBT007. LighTech offers a front bracket (OBT008) and a rear one (OBT009), plus the OBT003 support, and all three are black only. Order the OBT007 together with a bracket and the SPEED TRIPLE 1050 R installation is complete.
In the Workshop
Installation on the SPEED TRIPLE 1050 R needs no special service tool. Bleed and pressure-test the circuit on the SPEED TRIPLE 1050 R afterwards; this is not a cosmetic part. The OBT007 leaves no trace on the SPEED TRIPLE 1050 R if you take it off again.
What You Get
One reservoir per box, with its sealing gasket. Spares are listed under their own numbers rather than bundled.
Brake System and Road Approval
The hydraulic circuit is the one area where a styling part stops being a styling part. LighTech supplies no type-approval document with the OBT007, and we make no approval claim for it. Road use on the SPEED TRIPLE 1050 R means two steps: clarify it beforehand, test it afterwards.
