DescriptionThe whole story▼
The reservoir on a Z900 is visible from the saddle every time you ride it. LighTech machines the OBT007 from billet and lines it in plastic so 16 cm³ of fluid stays visible. Finish choice runs to 8 and changes nothing about the fit. It changes the part of the Z900 the rider looks at most.
Key Features
- The OBT007 is machined from solid, not cast or pressed
- Universal by design: LighTech builds one reservoir, not one per Kawasaki model
- Supplied with a rubber gasket that seals the cap against leaks
- 8 colours, all at the same price
- Supplied individually for the Z900
- Laser-engraved LighTech logo on the shell
Care and Checks
Brake fluid attacks paint and anodising alike, so wipe spills off the Z900 immediately. Otherwise it is a fit-and-forget item on the Z900.
Looks and Maintenance at Once
The cheapest way to change the look of a cockpit is also the most visible. LighTech machines the OBT007 shell from billet and lines it with translucent plastic, so 16 cm³ of fluid is readable without tools. Anodised rather than painted, so washing the Z900 does not dull it.
What It Fits
The listing is for the Z900 and the years 2017 to 2026. LighTech builds this reservoir as a universal part — it is not machined to the Z900 specifically, and the fit depends on where you mount it.
Fitting
The OBT007 goes on with the Z900 on its stand. Brake fluid strips paint — cover the Z900 tank and fairing before you open anything. The OBT007 leaves no trace on the Z900 if you take it off again.
Scope of Delivery
LighTech ships the OBT007 complete except for the mount. LighTech keeps it as a stock item.
The Second Part Number
The OBT007 arrives as a tank and a cap, nothing else. Three mounts exist — OBT003, OBT008 and OBT009 — and which suits the Z900 depends on where you want the tank. Order the OBT007 together with a bracket and the Z900 installation is complete.
Brake System and Road Approval
Brake components are regulated for the obvious reason, and this is one. LighTech supplies no type-approval document with the OBT007, and we make no approval claim for it. For a road-registered Z900 in Germany, have the installation assessed before you rely on it — and have the system bled and checked by a workshop afterwards.
