DescriptionThe whole story▼
The reservoir on an ER-6N is visible from the saddle every time you ride it. That is what the OBT007 does — 16 cm³ of fluid behind billet aluminium, 106 g on the bike. There are 8 finishes to choose from, all at the same price. It goes onto the ER-6N without modification and comes off again just as easily.
Key Features
- Replaces the original plastic reservoir of the ER-6N
- 16 cm³ capacity — the figure to check against your ER-6N master cylinder
- Colour is the only choice to make on the OBT007
- Translucent plastic liner, so the fluid level on the ER-6N stays readable
- A stock LighTech item rather than a special order
- Covers the ER-6N across 12 model years (2009 to 2020)
Mounting It
Fitting the OBT007 to an ER-6N is a hand-tool job. Bleed and pressure-test the circuit on the ER-6N afterwards; this is not a cosmetic part. Everything removed from the ER-6N can go straight back on.
Why the Original Falls Short
The cheapest way to change the look of a cockpit is also the most visible. The OBT007 keeps a clear liner behind the aluminium so the level stays visible on the ER-6N. On the ER-6N the reservoir replaces the original box and nothing else has to move.
Compatibility
LighTech lists the OBT007 for the Kawasaki ER-6N. The reservoir itself is universal. What makes it fit the ER-6N is the bracket and the hose, not the tank.
Looking After It
Brake fluid attacks paint and anodising alike, so wipe spills off the ER-6N immediately. There is no service interval for the part itself.
Order This With It
LighTech sells the reservoir and its mount as separate articles. LighTech offers a front bracket (OBT008) and a rear one (OBT009), plus the OBT003 support, and all three are black only. Tell us where you want it on the ER-6N and we will put the right bracket on the order.
Scope of Delivery
One reservoir per box, with its sealing gasket. Spares are listed under their own numbers rather than bundled.
Road Use and Approval
A fluid reservoir is part of the braking system, and German law treats it that way. LighTech does not certify the OBT007 for road use, and neither do we. Ask your inspection body about the ER-6N before fitting, and do not skip the bleed.
