DescriptionThe whole story▼
A grid of small sports bikes is decided in the braking zones, because everywhere else the machines are too evenly matched to make much difference. Riders who take a CFMOTO 400SR S racing will find the AGPA177 in Accossato's list for the front wheel in 2024, and this article number carries the EV2 racing compound, the material the Italian company positions for competition rather than for the road. It is bought by the lap rather than by the season.
Key Features
- Front pads for the CFMOTO 400SR S, model year 2024
- AGPA177EV2: the AGPA177 outline carrying the EV2 racing compound
- Accossato positions this material for racing
- Two pads per box, the set a single caliper takes
- Count the calipers on the front wheel before you order
- The ST, EV1 and ZXC materials share this outline
- The rear axle of the 400SR S is covered by the AGPA42 in 2024
- No German ABE in our files; a racing part for closed circuits
Construction and Material Quality
A race material is judged by a different measure. What counts is not how it looks after a winter of commuting but whether the lever comes back to the same place at the end of a race as it did on lap two, after a dozen heavy applications every lap and no chance to cool in between. That is the ground Accossato claims for the EV2 racing compound in the AGPA177 outline. On a 400SR S, which relies on entry speed to keep pace with the bike in front, an unpredictable front end costs a rider more than a slow one ever could.
The Last Five Laps
Races on small machines are usually settled late. Tyres have given away their first edge, arms are tired, and whoever can still slow at the board they used in the opening laps moves forward. That asks for honesty from the front of the bike: a lever creeping towards the bar is a distraction at the moment when attention belongs on the rider ahead. There is little engine on a 400SR S to make up the difference afterwards, so a place has to be taken at the corner and then defended all the way to the flag.
Between races the front brake gets a check that road riders would find obsessive. What is left is compared side to side, the disc is inspected for a lip at the outer edge, the fluid level is noted as the material gives itself up, and a spare pair waits in the van in case Sunday runs longer than planned. New pads go in early enough to be bedded during a practice session, never in the minutes before a start.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato's application table puts the AGPA177 on the front wheel of the 400SR S in 2024 and names no other year, so machines from other seasons should be matched to their own entry. The number of boxes follows the number of calipers gripping the front disc of your own bike, and the two pads inside make one caliper's set. Both sides are replaced together. For the rear of the same machine the list continues with the AGPA42, likewise 2024, and there is no Accossato disc for this model.
Road Approval
There is no German ABE for the AGPA177EV2 and nothing in the way of approval documents, which is consistent with what it is: a part for racing, sold for closed circuits.
Scope of Delivery
Two AGPA177 pads in the EV2 racing compound, boxed as the set for one caliper.
