DescriptionThe whole story▼
MV Agusta's Turismo Veloce 800 is the brand's long-legged sport tourer: a three-cylinder with a tall screen, hard cases and, on the Lusso RC SCS version, electronically adjusted suspension and an automatic clutch. It is a bike for crossing borders. Accossato catalogues its AGPA177 front pad in the Sintered compound, article AGPA177ST, for the Turismo Veloce 800 from 2014 to 2019. This mixture is for the owner who books a two-week trip in September and expects snow poles on the passes, fog in the valleys and a soaking or two along the way.
Key Features
- AGPA177ST front pads, Sintered compound
- Fits the MV Agusta Turismo Veloce 800 in Accossato's list, 2014 to 2019
- Grip that stays high and even when the pad is cold or hot
- Bites confidently on a rain-soaked disc
- Made for fully packed cases and a passenger
- EV1, EV2 and ZXC versions of the same plate exist
- Track use; we hold no German approval paperwork
Construction and Material Quality
Accossato's own summary of this Sintered mixture is short: a high grip level that does not drift with temperature, whether the pad is freezing or hot, and good grip in the wet. On a Turismo Veloce loaded for a fortnight, that translates into a lever you can read the same way in a dawn fog as after a twenty-hairpin descent. Accossato further claims long life and that fade is held back because the pad avoids overheating. It is bonded to the usual AGPA177 plate.
Border Crossings in September
Late-season touring is quiet and beautiful, but the weather changes by the hour. A grey morning at the foot of a pass can become sleet near the top and bright sun on the other side. Riders on a heavy tourer then brake more often and more gently, dragging the lever through long sequences of bends. The pad should not surprise you in any of that.
Pack tyre repair gear, but also look at the brakes before you set off: pad thickness through the caliper window, the level and colour of the fluid, and any lip on the edge of the disc. A worn pair discovered abroad costs a day of the holiday.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato's catalogue ties AGPA177 to the front of the MV Agusta Turismo Veloce 800 for 2014 to 2019; the Lusso RC SCS variant sold in our garage is covered by that entry. The rear axle takes AGPA42, which Accossato keeps listing until 2025, and there is no Accossato disc for this tourer. Both front calipers need pads, so two boxes renew the front.
Road Approval
Accossato has not supplied us with an ABE or German test certificate for AGPA177ST. We therefore market it for motorsport and competition.
Scope of Delivery
In the box: a pair of Sintered pads, enough for one of the two front calipers.
