DescriptionThe whole story▼
The MV Agusta Stradale 800 was built as a sporty three-cylinder tourer, with a relaxed riding position and room for luggage, and many were bought to cover real distances. Accossato's AGPA177 front pad in the Sintered compound, article AGPA177ST, is catalogued for the Stradale 800 from 2015 to 2016. It is aimed at riders who travel with panniers or a passenger, keep riding when the weather turns and need a front brake that feels the same in a downpour as on a sunny pass.
Key Features
- Front pad set AGPA177ST for the MV Agusta Stradale 800
- Model years 2015 and 2016
- Sintered compound with high, constant grip in cold and heat
- Accossato notes firm grip in the wet
- Suits luggage, pillion and long alpine descents
- The same plate comes as EV1, EV2 and ZXC
- Supplied for competition use; no German approval held
Construction and Material Quality
Accossato describes this Sintered mixture as one that keeps a high, steady grip level at both low and high temperatures and holds on well in the rain. On a touring Stradale that matters in two situations above all: the first wet stop of the day, when everything is cold, and the end of a long descent with a loaded bike, when the brakes have been worked for a while. Accossato also claims long pad life and fade held off by limited heat build-up. The Sintered layer is carried on the AGPA177 plate.
A Tour With Changing Weather
A week on the Stradale can easily include a hot motorway stretch, a cold morning in the mountains and an afternoon of rain. The front brake has to cope with all of it while the bike carries clothes, tools and possibly a second person. Riders on tour rarely have time to think about how their pads are behaving; they simply want the same response at every stop.
Before leaving, check pad thickness and the fluid level, and look at the discs for scoring. Pack a small bottle of brake cleaner if you expect muddy roads, and clean the discs gently if they pick up grime.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato lists AGPA177 for the front of the MV Agusta Stradale 800 in model years 2015 and 2016. The rear of the same bike uses AGPA42, catalogued for the same two years; no Accossato disc is named for the Stradale. With two front calipers on this model, a full front change takes two boxes.
Road Approval
AGPA177ST comes without an ABE or German approval mark in our records, so it is offered for racing and competition use.
Scope of Delivery
A box of two Sintered pads, sufficient for one front caliper.
