DescriptionThe whole story▼
Constructed from Nolan's Ultra-Carbon shell technology and shaped by decades of professional motorsport engineering, the X-804 RS Ultra Carbon in the SBK 360 livery represents the pinnacle of Italian helmet craft. The multi-layer carbon fibre outer shell delivers exceptional rigidity with a measured weight of just 1,420 g ±50 g — a genuinely impressive achievement for a full-face helmet approved to ECE 22.06 and equally at home on a closed circuit or a fast road.
Key Features
- Ultra-Carbon shell — four shell sizes paired with six EPS liner sizes for a precise, tailored fit across the full size range from XXS to XXXL
- NERS (Nolan Emergency Release System) — rapid, controlled helmet removal by emergency responders without risking further injury to the rider
- RAS (Racetrack Aerodynamic Spoiler) — actively manages airflow over the helmet at high speed, reducing lift and keeping the head stable under hard acceleration and braking
- RAF (Racing Air Flow System) — channelled ventilation paths circulate air through the shell continuously, managing heat and humidity during extended sessions
- Ultrawide visor — 97° vertical and 225° horizontal field of view, scratch-resistant, flat profile, secured by the Safety Visor Lock System (SVLS)
- Pinlock anti-fog inner lens included as standard — clear vision guaranteed regardless of temperature or weather conditions
- ECE 22.06 certified — meets the current highest homologation standard for motorcycle helmets in Europe
Shell Construction and Materials
The X-804 RS Ultra Carbon is built around a shell made entirely from carbon fibre — not a carbon-look composite, but the genuine article. Four distinct shell sizes across the range mean the structure is always proportionate to the rider's head, rather than relying on padding alone to compensate for an over-large shell. Six EPS liner configurations sit inside those shells, creating a matrix that optimises impact absorption geometry for every head size. The result is a helmet that feels substantial in the hand but genuinely light on the head over long stints.
Manufactured in Brembate di Sopra, Bergamo, Italy, the X-804 RS carries the manufacturing heritage and quality control standards that define Nolan's top-tier production. Every detail — from the double-D-ring retention system to the Camel-Bag preparation port — reflects a product engineered for riders who push their equipment to the limit.
Comfort and Interior
The Carbon Fitting Racing Experience interior liner is removable and fully washable, incorporating activated carbon fibres that manage odour and moisture during intense use. LPC (Liner Position Control) allows the liner to be repositioned for a millimetre-accurate fit, and the EA (Eyewear Adaptive System) accommodates spectacle frames without pressure points — confirmed suitable for glasses wearers. The double-D-ring chin-strap closure is the choice of professional motorsport for good reason: it is mechanically simple, impossible to open accidentally, and inspectable at a glance.
Visor System
The ultrawide visor spans an exceptionally large aperture — flat in profile for optical clarity and scratch-resistant across its surface. The SVLS keeps it locked securely at any selected position even under the buffeting generated at track speeds. A dark track-only visor with a Tear-Off Kit is included in the box alongside the standard clear lens and the Pinlock anti-fog insert, giving the rider three distinct vision configurations straight from unboxing.
SBK 360 Design
The SBK 360 graphic is a direct reference to the Superbike World Championship aesthetic: the exposed carbon fibre structure is set against racing black, red and white detailing, each line following the aerodynamic contours of the shell rather than sitting arbitrarily across them. It is a design with genuine motorsport provenance, not a cosmetic afterthought.
Fitment and Compatibility
The Nolan X-804 RS Ultra Carbon SBK 360 is a universal full-face helmet and is not model-specific. It is compatible with riders across all motorcycle categories. Note that it is not compatible with the Nolan N-Com Bluetooth intercom system. Camel-Bag hydration system preparation is built in for endurance and track-day use.

“Light, well made and four SHARP stars — but Nolan states plainly that it is not FIM homologated, and most race organisers will turn it away. As a fast track-day helmet it is a lot of carbon for the money; as a race helmet it is the wrong tool.”
— the Inter-Pace crewECE 22.06 only — Nolan states it is not FIM homologated.
Multi-density EPS, double-D and four shell sizes.
RAF airflow moves plenty of air for a road helmet.
Stable, though without the tunnel work of the FIM rivals.
1,420 g of Ultra Carbon — genuinely light.
100 dB, five quieter than the helmet it replaced.
Comfortable enough for a full day on the road.
Four shell sizes and four SHARP stars behind it.
Race-shaped carbon, road-homologated only.
528 € for a carbon shell with four SHARP stars.
528 € — Premium. Hover the bar for each range. Value is scored against the racing field, not in the abstract.
