How to measure your helmet size correctly: To find the right helmet size, measure your head circumference with a flexible tape measure.
It is important that the tape measure runs around the widest part of the head – only then will you get a correct result.
Place the tape measure at the front, about 1–2 cm above the eyebrows, and run it along the sides above the ears.
At the back, the tape must run over the largest part of the back of the head (not too low on the neck). The tape may run slightly at an angle – what matters is that it sits all the way around the largest points of the head.
Make sure the tape measure sits snugly but does not dig in. Measure 2–3 times for the most accurate result. You can then compare the measured value in centimetres (cm) with our size chart.
Tips for an accurate result
- Keep hair flat (e.g. do not measure over a voluminous hairstyle)
- Keep the tape horizontal, i.e. along the largest circumference
- Do not measure too loosely
- For values between two sizes:
→ usually choose the larger size (depending on helmet model / fit)
Important note on fit
The right helmet should fit firmly without causing uncomfortable pressure points.
A new helmet may feel a little tighter at first, as the inner lining adapts slightly over time.

Design, Finish and Heritage
The D.O.C 346 colourway — White/Red in gloss — draws directly from Nolan's long relationship with elite motorsport. Where matte carbon finishes speak to understatement, the X-804 RS in this livery is an unapologetic statement: polished, purposeful and rooted in the visual language of the grand prix paddock. The four-shell construction means the helmet proportions remain true at every head circumference, so the silhouette looks as considered on an XXS as it does on an XXXL.
Performance and Construction
Developed as a direct evolution of the acclaimed X-803, the X-804 RS Ultra Carbon raises the benchmark for what a race-sport full-face helmet should deliver. The ultra-carbon fibre shell achieves its low weight — 1,420 g ±50 g — without sacrificing the structural integrity demanded by UNECE 22-06 homologation. The Ultrawide visor field enhances peripheral awareness in race tuck positions, and the Pinlock anti-fog inner lens is included as standard, eliminating visor preparation before an early-morning trackday session. The interior is equally considered: the removable and washable liner, combined with 3D cheek pads and the Carbon Fitting inner shell, allows a genuinely tailored interface between helmet and rider. Glasses wearers are accommodated without compromise.
Fitment and Compatibility
The Nolan X-804 RS Ultra Carbon is a universal full-face helmet suitable for road and track use. It is approved to ECE 22.06 for road use in all participating markets. Note: this helmet is not compatible with the Nolan N-Com Bluetooth communication system. It is suitable for glasses wearers.
