How to measure your helmet size correctly: To find the right helmet size, measure your head circumference with a flexible tape measure.
It is important that the tape measure runs around the widest part of the head – only then will you get a correct result.
Place the tape measure at the front, about 1–2 cm above the eyebrows, and run it along the sides above the ears.
At the back, the tape must run over the largest part of the back of the head (not too low on the neck). The tape may run slightly at an angle – what matters is that it sits all the way around the largest points of the head.
Make sure the tape measure sits snugly but does not dig in. Measure 2–3 times for the most accurate result. You can then compare the measured value in centimetres (cm) with our size chart.
Tips for an accurate result
- Keep hair flat (e.g. do not measure over a voluminous hairstyle)
- Keep the tape horizontal, i.e. along the largest circumference
- Do not measure too loosely
- For values between two sizes:
→ usually choose the larger size (depending on helmet model / fit)
Important note on fit
The right helmet should fit firmly without causing uncomfortable pressure points.
A new helmet may feel a little tighter at first, as the inner lining adapts slightly over time.

The phoenix rising from the ashes sits at the heart of this helmet's graphic language — a direct reference to Andrea Iannone's return to competitive motorsport. The statement "LIKE A PHOENIX I RISE FROM THE ASHES" runs across the shell alongside Iannone's race number #29, rendered in a striking palette of red, orange, yellow, white and carbon black with gloss-finish air channels and a seamlessly integrated spoiler line. High-gloss lacquer over the raw carbon weave gives the helmet a visual depth that changes under different light conditions.
Comfort and Practicality on the Road and Track
The X-804 RS Ultra Carbon is built on Nolan's Speeding full-face platform, engineered specifically for extreme performance, ventilation and aerodynamic efficiency. The four-shell construction means that, unlike a one-shell-fits-all design, the helmet proportions are optimised for each size band — giving smaller and larger heads the same structural integrity and interior volume. The removable liner is fully washable, the cheek pads can be popped out independently, and the helmet is designed to accommodate a hydration (Camel Bag) system for endurance use. Eyeglass wearers are also catered for, with a groove cut into the cheek pads to allow temple arms to sit without pressure. Tear-off posts are already prepared in the visor system for track use, and the ultrawide field of vision keeps your peripheral awareness intact at speed.
Fitment and Compatibility
The Nolan X-804 RS Ultra Carbon holds ECE 22.06 homologation and is approved for road use across all ECE member countries as well as track days.
