How to measure your helmet size correctly: To find the right helmet size, measure your head circumference with a flexible tape measure.
It is important that the tape measure runs around the widest part of the head – only then will you get a correct result.
Place the tape measure at the front, about 1–2 cm above the eyebrows, and run it along the sides above the ears.
At the back, the tape must run over the largest part of the back of the head (not too low on the neck). The tape may run slightly at an angle – what matters is that it sits all the way around the largest points of the head.
Make sure the tape measure sits snugly but does not dig in. Measure 2–3 times for the most accurate result. You can then compare the measured value in centimetres (cm) with our size chart.
Tips for an accurate result
- Keep hair flat (e.g. do not measure over a voluminous hairstyle)
- Keep the tape horizontal, i.e. along the largest circumference
- Do not measure too loosely
- For values between two sizes:
→ usually choose the larger size (depending on helmet model / fit)
Important note on fit
The right helmet should fit firmly without causing uncomfortable pressure points.
A new helmet may feel a little tighter at first, as the inner lining adapts slightly over time.

Design and Heritage
Co-designed by the Nolan Style Centre and Carlos Checa himself, this Special Edition model (355) draws directly from the race livery Checa wore when claiming the 2011 Superbike World Championship. The graphics are not a simple reprint — they are a visual timeline of his career: a stylised world-globe motif representing his international reach, the iconic number 7, graphic milestone stamps charting career highlights, teal gradient transitions and silver metallic accents over a visible carbon weave structure. The result is a helmet that is unmistakably purposeful and unmistakably Checa.
Construction and Safety
The X-804 RS Ultra Carbon shell is produced in four discrete sizes — meaning the shell geometry genuinely scales with the wearer's head rather than relying on padding to compensate. The double-D ring retention system is the gold standard in racing helmet retention, and the cheek-pad emergency release allows first responders to remove the helmet safely without risking neck injury. Weighing in at 1,420 g ±50 g, the ultra-carbon construction keeps mass to a minimum without sacrificing rigidity. The UNECE 22-06 approval means this helmet is legal for use on public roads across Europe as well as on circuit.
Visor System
The flat Ultrawide visor maximises peripheral vision at speed. Its anti-scratch hard coating ensures long service life, and the included Pinlock anti-fog inner lens eliminates misting in cool or humid conditions. A dark smoke visor is included in the box for track and bright-sun use. The visor mechanism is also prepared for tear-off strips for wet-weather racing scenarios.
Fitment and Compatibility
The X-804 RS Ultra Carbon is not compatible with the Nolan N-Com Bluetooth communication system. It is suitable for glasses wearers. The helmet is available in sizes XXS through XXXL; use the head circumference guide below to select the correct size.
