Shell Construction and Materials

The Ultra Carbon shell is the structural heart of the X-804 RS. Carbon fibre's inherent stiffness-to-weight ratio means the shell can absorb and distribute impact energy with precision, without the mass penalty of fibreglass or composite alternatives. Nolan employs four distinct outer shell sizes — rather than padding out a single shell — so every rider from XXS to XXXL receives the same optimised geometry, not a compromise. Six matched EPS liner densities reinforce the fit, with multi-density foam tuned to manage different impact energies across zones of the helmet.

The Asso di Picche 356 finish expresses the carbon weave beneath a gloss lacquer, accented with the sharp red and grey graphic lines of the Asso di Picche (Ace of Spades) livery. The result is a surface that is as visually precise as it is structurally serious.

Racing Air Flow Ventilation

High-speed riding generates heat, and sustained focus demands a cool head — literally. The RAF system addresses this with an integrated network of intake and exhaust passages developed during wind-tunnel testing. Two upper intakes sit above the visor line, fed by a diffuser system that channels air across the EPS liner. A direct brow-and-chin intake serves a dual purpose: supplying fresh air and actively combating fogging at the visor base. Two lateral exhaust ports, combined with the spoiler-integrated extractor at the rear, maintain a continuous flow even in a tuck position.

The Racetrack Aerodynamic Spoiler (RAS) is removable and was refined using Computational Fluid Dynamics simulation to reduce lift and neutralise pressure at high speed, improving straight-line stability and reducing neck fatigue on long circuits.

Visor System

The flat ultrawide visor on the X-804 RS provides a 225° horizontal and 97° vertical field of view — among the widest in the full-face category. Its scratch-resistant coating protects optical clarity, while the Pinlock inner lens system eliminates fogging without chemical sprays. The Safety Visor Lock System (SVLS) prevents the visor from cracking open under aerodynamic pressure at speed, and a new security-fastened visor mechanism maintains absolute rigidity throughout the visor's travel. Both the clear road visor and the dark track-only visor (tear-off posts prepared) are included in the box.

Interior and Fit

The LAF system allows the padding to be configured to individual head shapes, eliminating pressure points on extended rides. The Carbon Fitting Racing Experience lining is moisture-wicking and breathable, while the 3D Steady Fit cheek pads are available in multiple thicknesses to dial in lateral fit. A chinstrap breath deflector and a wind deflector are included as standard items. The complete interior is removable and machine washable, and the helmet is prepared for a CamelBak-style hydration tube.

The Nolan X-804 RS Ultra Carbon Asso di Picche 356 is a road-legal, race-sport full-face helmet approved under ECE 22.06. It is suitable for road riding and track days.
