Rush is the carbon shell's own graphic family — a different drawing from the Quanta on the fibreglass helmets, applied to a shell 125 g lighter. Grey and red is its most conventional reading.

Two independent tests — and where they disagree

Perceived noise depends more on your motorcycle than on your helmet, which is the most likely explanation for the split verdict here — a tall touring screen and a naked bike produce completely different results from the same shell.

🔵 The measurable figure is 103 dB at 130 km/h, scored 3/5. The impression from a second test was „minimal wind noise".

About the Rush Black Red graphic

Worth knowing how the range splits, because the graphic name tells you the shell. Quanta decors sit on the X-Matrix2 fibreglass shell; Rush decors sit on X-PRO Carbon. Choosing between them is choosing a construction as much as a colour, and the price gap reflects that rather than the artwork. In grey and red, Rush is the version that most resembles a conventional sport helmet — useful if the carbon is for the weight rather than for the look. 🔵 Red pigment fades faster than most under UV, and printed graphics cannot be touched in after a stone strike.

The X-PRO Carbon shell

This version uses the X-PRO Carbon shell — the lighter of the two constructions at a claimed 1625 g against the composite shell's 1750 g ±50 — in three outer shell sizes covering XXS to XXXL.

🔵 Approvals are identical between the two: ECE 22-06, DOT FMVSS 218, CCC GB811:2022 and NBR7471:2015.

X-Block N'Seal — a visor that locks

🔵 A note on the photochromic option. It darkens under UV and clears again indoors or at dusk, which removes the need to carry a second visor on a long trip — but it works less well behind a car windscreen, where UV is filtered.

The helmet ships with a clear visor plus a spare, and a fitted Pinlock 120 XLT lens.

The ultra-wide sun visor

🔵 If you wear prescription glasses, a drop-down shield is considerably more practical than prescription sunglasses or a tinted visor — it goes up and down without removing anything.

The X.TR's drops to just above the bridge of the nose and is unusually wide.

Anti-Vibration EPS — two shells and a rubber layer

The part of the helmet in contact with your head is the inner EPS, and here it is not rigidly bonded to the outer one. A rubber trim lets it micro-move, absorbing vibration that would otherwise pass straight through.

🔵 On a touring helmet that is a fatigue feature. It is not impact protection and is not presented as such.

Two intakes, two chambers — and a 5/5 measurement

What ventilation actually manages is humidity as much as heat: sweat that cannot evaporate stays in the liner, and a saturated liner ends a long day early. The X-Mart Dry interior works on that alongside the vents.

Chin curtain, neck roll and how quiet it is

🔵 A quiet helmet is usually a warm one, because the same insulation does both jobs. That is exactly the trade-off both reviewers identified on the X.TR: quiet and comfortable, and stuffy when the temperature climbs.

The hardware responsible is the large chin curtain and the anti-noise neck roll.

Interior, retention and fit

Washing the interior is a ten-second job thanks to F.R.S.®: both cheek pads release together. The crown pad, chin-strap covers and breath guard come out separately.

🔵 Sweat breaks down foam over time; a liner washed a few times a season lasts appreciably longer than one that never is.

1625 grams, and the rest of the honest list

Nexx quotes 1625 g for the X-PRO Carbon shell — 125 g under the composite version. 🔵 No independent weigh-in exists for either shell, so treat both as manufacturer figures.

The honest list: no SHARP rating, no ADAC or Snell result, measured noise of 103 dB, and heat retention at low speed noted by one reviewer.

Comms, camera and spare parts

Genuine parts matter more on a helmet than on most things, because the visor and the retention system are part of what was certified to ECE 22-06. A pattern visor with different optical properties is not the helmet that was approved.
