DescriptionThe whole story▼
Purist Black is the plainest X.G30 and by far the least expensive — 72 € below the rest of the range. Same six-layer shell, same three shell sizes, same dark sun visor, same double-D ring.
A Sixties silhouette on a 2026 shell
The X.G30 belongs to Nexx's X.Garage line and is drawn directly from the jet helmets of the Sixties — an unbroken dome, no vent hardware on the outside, and a double-D ring at the chin.
🔵 What is not period is the shell underneath: a six-layer X-Matrix2 composite certified to the current ECE 22-06 standard rather than the superseded 22.05.
About the Purist Black finish
The name is accurate: this is the X.G30 without a trim colour, without a graphic and without a period reference beyond the shape itself. On a retro jet that restraint works, because the silhouette is doing all the design work already — a plain black dome is exactly what the helmets of the Sixties were before anyone painted them. It is also the version that suits a modern naked bike best, where a camel-trimmed helmet can look borrowed. 🔵 It is the least conspicuous helmet in the range, on a helmet type used mostly in town where being seen matters most. Black clear coat shows road film at maximum contrast — wash it wet, never dry-wipe.
Six layers, three shells
The shell is X-Matrix2 — Nexx's multi-composite formula, built from six layers combining multi-directional reinforcement with first-quality composites rather than repeated glass mat.
Three outer shell sizes (XS–M / L / XL–XXL) keep the helmet genuinely compact. Claimed weight: 1320 g ±50.
What an open-face helmet does and does not do
🔵 The X.G30 is an open-face helmet. It has no chin bar, and ECE 22-06's jet category makes no provision for chin or jaw protection — a substantial share of impacts land in exactly that region.
That is the trade for the view, the air and a helmet you will put on for a ten-minute journey. It deserves to be made deliberately.
The dark sun visor — and the clear one that is not there
Eye protection here is an integrated drop-down sun visor, dark-tinted, deployed and retracted manually by a fine grip on the edge of the lens rather than by a slider on the shell.
🔵 No clear outer visor is supplied. The box contains the helmet, the dark shield and a peak. External visors — clear, 60 %, 80 %, iridium and yellow HD — are accessories.
| External visor | What it is for |
|---|---|
| Clear | year-round use, night and rain — 🔴 not supplied with the helmet |
| 60 % tint | bright days without committing to full darkness |
| 80 % tint | strong summer sun — daylight only |
| Iridium red / green | mirrored, cuts glare — daylight only |
| Yellow HD | lifts contrast in flat, overcast and dusk light |
Interior, X-Mart Dry and the Ergo Padding System
Nexx calls the interior a „Luxurious Cushion", and the substance behind the phrase is the fabric: X-Mart Dry, which dries roughly twice as fast as ordinary cotton and adds insulation on colder days.
All of it comes out for washing, and it is sweat-wicking and anti-allergic. Removable chin-strap covers are included.
The double-D ring
Retention is a double-D ring — the closure used across the whole X.Garage collection, and the one racing regulations require. It has no mechanism to fail, no plastic teeth to strip and no adjustment that can drift out of position.
🔵 It takes a moment longer than a ratchet. In exchange it gives exactly the same tension every single time.
1320 grams, and the rest of the honest list
🔵 The honest list. No intercom provision — there is no designed-in system and no speaker recesses. No Pinlock compatibility. No clear visor in the box. No independent safety rating, because SHARP does not lab-rate jets.
In exchange: 1320 g ±50, a six-layer composite shell in three sizes, four market approvals and a design nothing else quite matches.
Where it sits in Nexx's range
The X.G30 is Nexx's premium jet and sits above the Y.10 in every respect that costs money: a six-layer composite shell rather than thermoplastic, three shell sizes rather than two, and a considerably deeper accessory range.
🔵 The Y.10 costs from 119 € and takes a universal intercom. This one does not.
Accessories and spare parts
The accessory range is what sets this helmet apart from every other retro jet: external visors in clear, 60 % tint, 80 % tint, iridium red, iridium green and yellow HD; complete linings in camel-black and black; peaks; and the universal Ergo Padding System.
🔵 The clear external visor is the one most owners will want, since none is supplied.
