DescriptionThe whole story▼
The Dainese Axial 2 is a race-bred motorcycle boot that earns its place just as readily on the daily commute as it does on the pit lane exit. Worn by MotoGP champions and engineered for riders who demand maximum safety without sacrificing all-day wearability, the Axial 2 brings genuine track technology to every ride — in a clean, all-black colourway that suits any machine and any occasion.
Key Features
- D-Axial System constructed from carbon and aramid fibre protects the foot and ankle against dangerous rotational forces in an impact
- Removable and replaceable magnesium heel cup and ankle protectors maintain long-term protection even after hard use
- Asymmetric Groundtrax sole delivers exceptional grip and high heat resistance across both tarmac and track surfaces
- IN-construction with hook-and-loop closure integrates seamlessly with Dainese racing suits for a gap-free protective interface
- TPU gear-change guard resists abrasion at the shift point, extending the life of the boot's upper
- Double jersey Airgap lining promotes airflow and temperature regulation during extended sessions
- CE Category II certified to EN 13634 — the highest protection standard for motorcycle boots
Construction and Materials
Dainese built the Axial 2 around a microfibre and D-Stone fabric upper that balances durability with a surprisingly supple feel underfoot. The shaft is made from elastic material that conforms to the rider's anatomy rather than fighting it, which pays dividends on long road days as much as it does during a full track weekend. Nylon reinforcements at the heel and toe add structural rigidity where impacts are most likely, while the overall construction is kept light enough that feedback through the pegs remains crisp.
Magnesium sliders at the toe and heel are both removable and replaceable, keeping the boot serviceable over the long term. Three replacement slider kits are available should you need them: the 1999948 magnesium boot kit, the 1999885 stainless steel boot slider kit, and the 1999954 plastic boot slider kit 16.
Ergonomics and Fit
A rear zip — redesigned on the Axial 2 to be more practical and more robust than its predecessor — makes getting the boot on and off straightforward even when you are already suited up. An internal lacing system then allows a precise, personalised fit once the boot is on, and flexible articulated joints at the ankle ensure natural range of motion is preserved whether you are trail-braking into a hairpin or walking to the paddock café. The TPU gear-change guard sits exactly where it needs to without adding bulk to the feel at the lever.
Ventilation and Thermal Comfort
The double jersey Airgap lining creates a channel of circulating air against the foot, managing heat build-up during long track sessions or warm-weather road rides. The breathable materials used throughout the upper work in concert with this lining to keep the foot as cool and comfortable as possible across extended periods in the saddle.
Fitment and Compatibility
The Dainese Axial 2 is designed for male riders and is suitable for road and track use. Available in sizes 39 through to 47. The IN-construction with hook-and-loop closure is specifically designed to connect with Dainese one-piece and two-piece racing suits, creating a continuous protective interface between boot and suit. The all-black colourway pairs discreetly with leathers of any colour.
