DescriptionThe whole story▼
A gold shell is the boldest thing Nexx offers on this helmet and one of very few gold helmets on the market at any price. It is a deliberate choice rather than a subtle one, and it suits the period reference.
A Sixties silhouette on a 2026 shell
The X.G30's appeal is a shape that almost nobody builds properly any more, and the reason so few do is that a compact, unbroken dome is harder to certify than a modern shell with room to work in.
🔵 Nexx's answer is the six-layer X-Matrix2 layup — multi-directional composites rather than repeated glass mat — in three shell sizes.
About the Svelto Gold finish
Gold on a helmet works or fails on the shade, and this one is warm rather than brassy — closer to aged brass than to modern metallic gold, which is what keeps it in the same register as the X.Garage line's leather-and-chrome references. On an unbroken dome with no vents or spoiler to interrupt it, a single reflective colour also shows the shape more clearly than any graphic could. 🔵 It is a high-value finish, so conspicuity is better than any dark version here. The trade is that it shows road film and fingerprints readily, and gold is the most fashion-dependent colour on this shelf.
Six layers, three shells
🔵 No independent safety rating exists for this helmet, and none will: SHARP does not lab-rate open-face jets, and there is no ADAC or Snell entry. An absent rating here means out of scope rather than poorly rated.
What the X.G30 holds is ECE 22-06 plus DOT, CCC and NBR certifications, on a six-layer composite shell.
What an open-face helmet does and does not do
People assume a jet is a fair-weather helmet and a full-face is a serious one. Neither is quite right. The X.G30 is a serious helmet — six-layer composite shell, three shell sizes, double-D retention, four market approvals — for a category that leaves the face open.
🔵 That opening is the absence of a chin bar, and it is why a full-face protects more.
The dark sun visor — and the clear one that is not there
The peak is supplied with the helmet, in matt black, and on a jet it does real work: it shades low sun from above, which is exactly the case a tinted shield handles least well.
🔵 It also catches air. Above about 80 km/h a peaked jet pulls noticeably at the head.
| External visor | What it is for |
|---|---|
| Clear | year-round use, night and rain — 🔴 not supplied with the helmet |
| 60 % tint | bright days without committing to full darkness |
| 80 % tint | strong summer sun — daylight only |
| Iridium red / green | mirrored, cuts glare — daylight only |
| Yellow HD | lifts contrast in flat, overcast and dusk light |
Interior, X-Mart Dry and the Ergo Padding System
🔵 Fit is the specification that matters most and the one no description settles for you. On a jet a badly fitting helmet shows itself faster than on a full-face, because there is no chin bar spreading the load.
Try it on and keep it on for ten minutes. The Ergo Padding System is available if it is close but not quite right.
The double-D ring
The double-D is one of three things the X.G30 shares with the helmets it references: the closure, the unbroken dome, and the trimmed face opening. The rest — the six-layer shell, the three sizes, the ECE 22-06 approval — is entirely modern.
🔵 Removable chin-strap covers keep the strap comfortable against the neck.
1320 grams, and the rest of the honest list
Light helmets are usually light because something has been left out, and it is worth knowing what. Here it is the chin bar, the visor mechanism, the ventilation hardware and the comms provision — not the shell, the approvals or the interior.
🔵 1320 g ±50 is the result, on a six-layer composite shell certified to ECE 22-06.
Where it sits in Nexx's range
The X.Garage collection is Nexx's classic line rather than a single retro model, and everything in it shares the double-D ring and the same design language. The X.G30 is its full-size jet.
🔵 That consistency is why the accessory range is as deep as it is.
Accessories and spare parts
Genuine parts matter more on a helmet than on most things, because the visor and the retention system are part of what was certified to ECE 22-06. A pattern part that behaves differently is not the helmet that was approved.
Everything we stock for the X.G30 is Nexx's own: visors, linings, peaks and padding.
