Inception is the main graphic family on this shell, and B4 pairs grey with orange — the most useful bright combination MT offers on the Braker SV.

Entry sport-touring — and what that means

🔵 No independent road test of the Braker SV has been published, and SHARP has never listed it. That means untested rather than poorly rated, but it is a gap in the evidence and worth knowing before you buy.

What it holds is ECE 22.06 and DOT certification — pass marks rather than comparative ratings.

About the Inception B4 graphic

Orange is the colour the human eye resolves fastest in flat light, which is precisely the condition a European commute supplies for most of the year: overcast, wet tarmac, low winter sun. Setting it against grey rather than white is the sensible part — the grey areas absorb the road film that would make a pale helmet look neglected within a week, while the orange keeps doing its job. 🔵 Orange pigment fades faster than most under sustained ultraviolet, and printed graphics cannot be touched in. Store the helmet out of direct sun.

HIRP, ECE 22.06 and DOT

Seven sizes from XS to XXXL is a wider range than most helmets in this class offer, and the XXXL in particular is genuinely hard to find at any price.

The construction is HIRP thermoplastic at approximately 1525 g, homologated to ECE 22.06 and approved to DOT.

The single-action sun visor

If you wear prescription glasses, a drop-down shield is far more practical than prescription sunglasses or a tinted visor — it goes up and down without removing anything.

🔵 The Braker SV's is single-action, which makes it quick enough to use at a junction rather than only before setting off.

MT-QVSS, and the anti-fog insert you buy separately

Tool-free visor changes matter more than they sound on a commuting helmet. A visor that needs a screwdriver is a visor that never gets changed, and a scratched one flares badly against oncoming headlights at night.

🔵 MT-QVSS makes it a ten-second job, with two buttons rather than a fiddled catch.

Three intakes and a spoiler that vents

Airflow only happens if there is somewhere lower in pressure for the air to go, which is why the integrated exhaust matters as much as the three intakes. Putting it in the spoiler puts it where the pressure is lowest.

🔵 MT documents the layout; nobody has independently measured what it delivers.

The MT-Micrometric+ closure

🔵 A loose strap is the most common way a helmet fails to do its job, and it has nothing to do with the shell. If the helmet can be rolled forward off your head with the strap fastened, it is either too big or too loose.

The MT-Micrometric+ closure adjusts finely enough to fix the second problem. It cannot fix the first.

Interior, fit and the nose deflector

The parts that wear on any helmet are the ones you touch: the lining compresses, the cheek pads absorb sweat, and the chin-strap area frays. All of it comes out on this helmet, and all of it washes.

🔵 Replacement padding is also the right answer to a helmet that has loosened with use.

Universal UCS intercom mount

Intercom provision at this price is not a given, and it is one of the features that lifts the Braker SV above typical entry-level full-face helmets — alongside the sun visor, the dual homologation and the tool-free visor system.

🔵 The system itself is a separate purchase.

Where it sits in MT's range

🔵 If an independent safety rating is part of your decision, note that only MT's Track SV currently carries one — four SHARP stars. The Braker SV has never been listed, and nor has most of the range.

Every current MT full-face holds ECE 22.06; this one adds DOT.

When something wears out

Genuine parts matter more on a helmet than on most things, because the visor and the retention system are part of what was certified to ECE 22.06 and DOT. A pattern visor with different optical properties is not the helmet that was approved.
