DescriptionThe whole story▼
Jeans is the one finish in this range that imitates a material rather than a colour: a woven textile texture laid over titanium grey, so the shell reads as fabric from a couple of metres away and as paint up close.
Four stars from SHARP
🔵 A homologation and a rating answer different questions. ECE 22.06 is a threshold: pass and the helmet may be sold. SHARP is comparative — it crashes helmets at several speeds and points and publishes how they ranked against each other.
The Stream II clears the first and scores 4 of 5 on the second.
KPA shell, multi-density EPS and three shell sizes
What an injection-moulded thermoplastic shell means in practice: it is formed in a machine rather than laid up by hand, which makes it consistent and inexpensive, and heavier than a composite of equal strength.
🔵 At about 1550 g the Stream II is a normal weight for a full-face at this price. Carbon buys you 100–200 g and costs three times as much.
What the ECE 22.06 plaque actually means
Under 22.06, everything fitted to the helmet is tested as fitted — visor, internal sun visor, vent covers. A helmet cannot be approved bare and then sold with accessories that were never in the test.
🔵 The Stream II's sun visor and vent hardware are part of its approval rather than additions to it.
About the Jeans titanium finish
Textile-effect finishes are a recent idea on helmets and this is a restrained example of one — the weave is fine enough to register as texture rather than as a pattern, and the titanium grey underneath keeps it from looking like a novelty. It works because it gives the shell an apparent surface at close range without adding a graphic that has to be looked at from across a car park. On a helmet that spends its life on ordinary roads with ordinary clothes, that is usually the right level of statement. The grey base brings the practical properties with it: this is a value that hides road film about as well as anything can, and sits high enough on the scale to be resolved against tarmac more readily than a dark helmet. 🔵 One note specific to printed texture — it cannot be touched in after a scuff the way a solid colour can, so a deep mark is permanent. Wash it wet, never dry-wipe it. A last point in its favour: because the texture is fine and tonal rather than graphic, this is the version that looks least dated after a few years — printed patterns age faster than surfaces do, and this reads as a surface.
Twin Visor: two screens, one shell
Sunset on a westbound road is the case that settles the argument. A peak or a cap shades light from above; the problem here is light straight ahead, and only a shield in front of your eyes handles it.
🔵 The Stream II's drops on a slider and retracts fully into the shell.
Anti-fog — prepared for, not supplied
An anti-fog insert works by sitting slightly proud of the visor with a sealed pocket of air between the two, keeping the inner surface above dew point. Nothing else reliably stops fogging in cold, wet, slow conditions.
🔵 The Stream II's visor is prepared for the Pinlock 70 MaxVision. The insert itself is sold separately.
Ventilation, and what we are not claiming about it
Airflow only happens if there is somewhere lower in pressure for the air to go, which is why the rear exhaust matters as much as the intakes at the chin and crown.
🔵 No independent measurement of this helmet's airflow has been published, so the rating on this page is a construction assessment rather than a test result.
Lining, closure and everyday comfort
A chin wind deflector is fitted as standard. It cuts the turbulent air coming up from below the chin bar, which is where a large share of a full-face helmet's noise and cold draught originate.
🔵 Wind noise itself is not independently measured on this model, so we make no claim about the result.
Where it sits in LS2's range
Where the Stream II sits: above the entry helmets, below the carbon models, and at the point in LS2's range where the equipment list stops being basic — internal sun visor, laser-cut lining, chin deflector, intercom preparation.
🔵 The one thing missing is the anti-fog insert, which is sold separately.
Care and replacement parts
Look after the visor above everything else. Never wipe it dry — grit dragged across the surface leaves fine scratches, and scratches flare against oncoming headlights when you most need to see.
🔵 Wet it, wash it, dry it with a clean soft cloth. Replacement visors are available.
In the box
- LS2 FF808 Stream II helmet — Jeans, Titanium, textile-look finish (KPA shell)
- Clear outer visor, fitted

Size guide
A tape measure gets you to the right size; it cannot tell you about head shape. If a correctly-measured helmet presses at the temples while gapping at the forehead, that is shape rather than size.
🔵 No padding change fixes a shape mismatch — try a different helmet instead.
