Splitter is the graphic family Certimoov actually tested. The University of Strasbourg's laboratory bought an FF811 Splitter in fibreglass and rated the helmet 3.5 out of 5 — so this is the decor with a second set of independent numbers behind it.

A four-star shell in six sizes

Multi-density EPS handles different impact energies: firmer where an impact must be slowed hard, softer where energy should be absorbed progressively, rather than one compromise density throughout.

🔵 That is a large part of what SHARP's instruments were measuring when they returned four stars.

Two independent results — including the criticisms

🟢 A rating from SHARP and a rating from Certimoov measure different things. SHARP crashes helmets and scores impact performance by zone; Certimoov assesses a broader package including fit, vision and equipment alongside impact.

🔵 The Vector II scores 4/5 on the first and 3.5/5 on the second.

Airflow that reaches your head

🔵 Wind noise is also left unrated. No independent measurement exists for this helmet, and noise depends heavily on your screen and riding position in any case — a single figure would mislead even if one existed.

What can be said is that a compact shell presents less surface for turbulence to act on.

About the Splitter black and white graphic

The tested sample was a Splitter, which makes this the version whose exact appearance appears in a published independent assessment — a small distinction, and a genuine one. Certimoov praised the helmet's compactness, singling out the six shell sizes, along with the field of vision, the equipment level, the road performance and the price. 🔵 It criticised two things: getting the helmet on, and the sun visor mechanism. Both are covered honestly further down this page rather than left out. On the graphic itself: black and white is the highest-contrast pairing available without introducing a colour, and hard boundaries between light and dark are what peripheral vision locks onto — a smooth gradient gives the eye nothing to fix on, while a sharp edge reads as structure. The white areas also lift the overall value meaningfully above the plain black version, which matters at a junction in poor light. Between the three Splitter finishes the choice is straightforward. This is the highest-contrast and the one Certimoov actually tested; the titanium and red version is the most balanced for everyday use; the titanium and hi-vis is the one with the strongest safety argument. All three cost 237 € and share the same shell and equipment.

Two visors in the box, a third inside the shell

🟢 Pinlock 120 MaxVision is the top anti-fog grade Pinlock makes, with the widest treated area. Getting it included rather than sold separately is worth around 30 €.

🔵 It is the difference between a visor that fogs at traffic lights and one that does not.

Holding on, and letting go

🔵 A loose strap is the most common way a correctly-sized helmet fails to do its job, and it is entirely within your control. The buckle here adjusts in fine steps rather than between fixed holes.

Set the length bare-handed once, and the rest is one-handed for the life of the helmet.

The part you actually touch

Comfort over four hours is decided by pressure distribution rather than softness. A lining that feels plush in the first minute often lacks support and produces a hot spot later.

🔵 Because the pads come out and swap individually, a pressure point here is usually fixable rather than fatal.

Where it sits in LS2's range

🟢 Certimoov listed the price among the things it praised, which is worth noting from a university laboratory rather than a marketing department.

🔵 Four SHARP stars, six shell sizes, a Pinlock and a tinted visor in the box, at 220 €.

Care and replacement parts

🔵 The Pinlock insert is a consumable too. It is a soft-coated lens that scratches more easily than the visor behind it; when it hazes, replace it rather than living with it.

Size guide

Buy tight. Every helmet loosens as the padding compresses, noticeably over the first hours and again across the first season, so the correct size at purchase feels slightly too snug.
