DescriptionThe whole story▼
Tropical is the most decorative graphic in this range and the only one built around a botanical pattern, carried in pink and white over a black ground.
A four-star shell in six sizes
Composite construction is why this helmet sits at 220 € rather than 130 €. Laying fibre and resin is slower than injection moulding and produces a stronger shell for the same mass.
🔵 At 1500 g including a drop-down sun visor, it is a good weight for a composite full-face at this money.
Two independent results — including the criticisms
🟢 The SHARP test was carried out in February 2025 against ECE 22.06 — a current result on the current standard, not a legacy score carried over from an earlier Vector.
🔵 Where a rating belongs to a predecessor or a different shell we say so and leave it out. Here it belongs to this helmet.
Airflow that reaches your head
Ventilation is the specification most exaggerated in helmet marketing, because it is the hardest for a buyer to verify and the easiest to describe impressively.
🔵 Ours is deliberately flat: chin intake, top intake, ducted EPS, rear exhaust — and no independent measurement of any of it.
About the Tropical graphic
There is a serious point buried in an unserious-looking design. An eye scanning a busy junction is not measuring brightness; it is looking for whatever does not fit the pattern it expects to find. A traffic scene contains grey, black, white, silver, red, blue and some green — and no pink at all, on any vehicle, any sign or any part of the roadside. A colour that appears nowhere else in the scene registers as an anomaly, and anomalies are what the visual system is built to catch. Motorcycle conspicuity research has consistently found that contrast against the surroundings does more work than raw brightness. The white elements add value on top of that, so this is doing two things at once. 🔵 Two practical notes: pale and pink pigments are more UV-sensitive than the inorganic colours, so store it out of direct sunlight, and a printed graphic of this complexity cannot be touched in after a deep scratch. A note on how this is usually read: floral and pink graphics are routinely assumed to be a women's colourway, and there is nothing in the design or the sizing that makes that true — the Vector II runs XXS to 4XL in every finish. If you like it, buy it; the conspicuity argument behind it holds regardless.
Two visors in the box, a third inside the shell
🟢 Check what a helmet includes before comparing prices. This box contains the Pinlock 120 MaxVision, a complete tinted visor, reflective stickers and a carrying backpack.
🔵 On many rivals the first two are accessories that quietly move the real price by 70 €.
Holding on, and letting go
🟢 A micrometric closure gives you fine adjustment rather than a choice between two positions: you set the strap to the millimetre and return to the same place every time.
🔵 The strap it sits on is reinforced where it meets the shell.
The part you actually touch
🔵 The hypoallergenic treatment slows rather than prevents the smell every used helmet eventually develops. What actually prevents it is washing the lining, which takes two minutes here.
Do it a few times a season.
Where it sits in LS2's range
🟢 Against rivals from other brands at this money, the Vector II's arguments are unusual: six shell sizes, two independent test results, and a box containing both a Pinlock 120 and a complete tinted visor.
🔵 Add those two accessories to a cheaper helmet before comparing sticker prices.
Care and replacement parts
Cheek pads in other thicknesses are the most useful spare available and the least often bought. A fit that has loosened over two seasons is usually corrected with thicker pads rather than a new helmet.
🔵 The complete lining is listed separately too.
In the box
- LS2 FF811 Vector II helmet — Tropical, Black, white and pink (HPFC composite shell)
- Clear hardcoated visor, fitted, with tool-free change
- Pinlock® 120 MaxVision™ anti-fog insert
- A complete tinted visor — 🔵 daylight use only in most European jurisdictions
- Integrated drop-down sun visor, fitted
- Carrying backpack
- Reflective stickers
- 🔵 No intercom — the lining has pre-moulded pockets for LS2's Bluetooth system; the system itself is a separate purchase
Size guide
🔵 Fit matters more than any specification on this page, including the four SHARP stars. The liner protects you where it is in contact with your head, and a loose helmet moves before it begins working.
Measure, try, and keep it on for ten minutes.

Specification
- Model — LS2 FF811 Vector II
- Part number — 168112112
- Colour — Tropical — Black, white and pink
- Homologation — ECE 22.06
- 🟢 Safety rating — SHARP 4 stars of 5, tested February 2025. SHARP records composite fibre, 1.5 kg — this HPFC version, not the Vector II Carbon at 1.4 kg, which carries no rating
- 🟢 Second opinion — Certimoov (University of Strasbourg): 3.5 of 5, on an FF811 Splitter in fibreglass. Praised: compactness („6 shell sizes!"), field of vision, equipment, road performance, price. 🔵 Criticised: getting the helmet on, and the sun visor mechanism
- Shell — HPFC high-performance fibreglass composite; six shell sizes (2XS–XS / S / M / L / XL / 2XL–3XL–4XL)
- Impact liner — multi-density EPS with ducted ventilation channels
- Weight — approx. 1500 g (±50 g)
- Sizes — XXS to 4XL (nine sizes)
- Visor — wide, hardcoated, UV-stable, tool-free change
- Sun visor — integrated drop-down shield, stowing fully inside the shell. 🔵 Certimoov named the mechanism as a point LS2 could improve
- 🟢 Included — Pinlock® 120 MaxVision™ insert, a complete tinted visor, a carrying backpack and reflective stickers
- 🔴 Tinted visor — daylight only — most European jurisdictions bar tinted visors at night
- 🔴 Ventilation — chin and top intakes, ducted EPS, rear exhaust. Left unrated — neither SHARP nor Certimoov measures airflow and no independent road test publishes figures
- 🔴 Wind noise — left unrated — no independent measurement is published for this model
- Retention — micrometric metal buckle on a reinforced strap, with emergency release
- Interior — washable, removable and hypoallergenic, with pre-moulded intercom pockets for LS2's Bluetooth system. 🔵 The fit is deliberately close — good for stability, awkward on the way on
- 🔴 FIM homologation — none — a road helmet, not eligible for FIM-sanctioned competition
- Serviceability — both visors, sun visor, Pinlock insert, cheek pads (several thicknesses), lining and vent covers
- Replacement guidance — after about five years, and immediately after any impact — composite can look undamaged over crushed EPS
