The light tinted YAR20VF0 is KYT's R2R shield for exactly that kind of weather, taking the edge off brightness without turning an overcast sky gloomy. Even a light tint belongs to daylight, so use this visor only in daytime and never at night, at dusk, in tunnels or when visibility is poor.
Made for weather that keeps changing
A dark shield is a commitment to full sun; once the clouds roll in, it feels like riding with sunglasses indoors. This lighter shade sits between that and the clear original. It calms glare from wet roads and pale sky on a hazy spring morning, yet still leaves enough brightness for shaded forest sections. Riders who dislike swapping visors mid-ride often find it the most versatile daytime choice. It also keeps the helmet looking close to standard, since the light shade barely changes the face of the R2R.
Living with two shields
Because it is a daytime visor, it works best as the partner to a clear one. On a tour, fit the light tint in the morning and keep the clear R2R shield in the luggage; if the day runs late, the tool-free Quick Visor Change lets you switch back in a lay-by before the light goes.
Clear optics behind the tint
A tint only helps if the picture through it stays true. KYT rates this shield optical class 1, and the full-vision aperture of the R2R keeps the edges of the view open when you look deep into a bend or glance at a mirror. The anti-scratch treatment earns its keep on a lighter shade too, because fine marks become obvious as soon as the sun catches them.

Points to check first
The shield is cut for the KYT R2R and fits no other helmet, not even KYT's TT-Revo or R1R. It is Pinlock-ready, but no anti-fog insert is packed with it; the Pinlock MaxVision 70 that comes with the R2R helmet in our delivery can be moved over from your current visor. Rules on tinted visors also differ between countries, so please check what applies where you ride.
