DescriptionThe whole story▼
Gold is the boldest statement among the R2R mirror shields. The YAR20VO0 gives the helmet a warm, paddock-style front that stands out most on black, dark grey or deep red paint, and the tint underneath is there for bright sunshine. Because of that tint it is a daylight-only visor: do not ride with it at night, at dusk, through tunnels or in poor visibility.
Why riders pick gold
Gold mirrors have been part of racing style for a long time, and on a sport helmet like the R2R they still look the part. Against a dark shell the shield almost glows; on lighter graphics it adds a warm accent that silver cannot. It is the choice for riders who want the helmet to be noticed before the bike. Paired with gold-coloured parts on the motorcycle, such as anodised levers or a gold fork, the look becomes a deliberate theme rather than a single accent.
Behind the gold
Strip away the colour and you have a sun shield with optical class 1 optics, an anti-scratch surface and the wide full-vision opening of the R2R. It is also Pinlock-ready, so fog control on cool mornings works just as it does with the original visor. In other words, the gold is a matter of taste, not a trade-off in what you see.
Key Features
- Strong-sun visor with a gold mirror look
- Optical class 1, anti-scratch
- Pinlock-ready, full-vision field of view
- Fits the KYT R2R via Quick Visor Change, no tools
- Same central locking as the original shield
Planning the day around it
Think of the gold shield as part of a sunny-day setup: track days in summer, a ride to the coast, a long afternoon on mountain roads. When there is a chance of coming home in the dark, take the clear R2R visor along. The swap is quick, as the shield releases by hand from the centrally locking mechanism.
Limitations
Fits the KYT R2R only, not the TT-Revo, the R1R or other brands. If your helmet is sold as an R2R Max version, check the fit with us before ordering. No Pinlock insert is supplied; the shield is prepared for one, and the MaxVision 70 that comes with the R2R helmet in our delivery can be moved over. Legal rules on tinted and mirrored visors depend on the country, so please check before riding.
