DescriptionThe whole story▼
High summer, a cloudless pass road, asphalt reflecting the noon sun straight back up: that is the situation the dark tinted YAR20VS0 is meant for. KYT's darkest plain shade for the R2R lets you stop squinting when the sun is at its strongest. It is strictly a daylight visor; do not wear it at night, at dusk, in tunnels or in poor visibility, and plan to switch before evening.
When the sun is at its fiercest
Squinting for hours is tiring, and fatigue is what makes a long ride feel longer. In bright Mediterranean light, on beach roads or across open plains, a deep tint does the work your eyelids would otherwise do. Unlike a mirror finish, it stays understated: the shield simply looks smoke-dark from the outside and blends with any R2R graphic. For riders who find mirrored coatings too showy, that is the main reason to pick the plain dark shade.
Optics for long days in the saddle
Sunny rides tend to be long ones: hours of looking far down the road, insects at speed, a quick wipe at every stop. Optical class 1 keeps the image free of distortion over that distance, the anti-scratch layer makes roadside cleaning less of a gamble, and the full-vision cut leaves a wide view of junctions to either side.
Limits worth knowing
A darker shield is the wrong tool once shadows grow long, so treat it as a sunshine accessory and carry the clear R2R visor whenever a ride might run into the evening. Tunnels deserve a special mention: the change from bright sun to an unlit tube is abrupt with any tint. The visor fits only the KYT R2R and not the TT-Revo or R1R. It accepts a Pinlock insert, though none is included. Tinted-visor rules also vary by country, so please check your local regulations.
Key Features
- Dark tint for strong sunlight
- Rated optical class 1
- Anti-scratch surface treatment
- Pinlock-ready
- Wide, full-vision aperture
- Changed by hand thanks to Quick Visor Change
A two-minute routine
With the R2R's central locking and Quick Visor Change, swapping between dark and clear needs no tools at all. Many riders fit the dark shield at the lunch stop and put the clear one back before heading home. If you already use the Pinlock MaxVision 70 supplied with your R2R, the same insert can go onto this visor.
