DescriptionThe whole story▼
A blue mirror changes the whole face of a helmet. On the R2R, the Iridium Blue YAR20VB0 picks up any blue in the graphics and gives the front a cool, deep sheen, while the tint behind the coating handles strong sunshine. Please keep it for daytime: it is not suitable for riding at night, at dusk, in tunnels or whenever visibility is poor.
Matching colour to the helmet
Many R2R graphics carry blue somewhere, whether as a main colour or a thin accent line, and this shield is the easiest way to pull that colour forward. On a white or silver shell the blue reads crisp and sporty; with black it turns darker and more subdued. If your helmet has no blue at all, the silver or gold mirror may sit better. Seen from the side in sunlight, the coating gives off a glint that makes the R2R recognisable from a distance.
Key Features
- Blue Iridium mirror finish
- Class 1 optics
- Treated against scratches
- Accepts a Pinlock anti-fog insert
- Full-vision opening
- Quick Visor Change for a hand-only swap
Sun, glare and the clear alternative
Behind the colour sits a sun visor for bright days: open roads under a high sun, reflections off a lake, white limestone in the south. It is not a shield to leave on all day if the ride ends after sunset, so pack the clear R2R visor too. Changing over takes moments, since the R2R's centrally locked mechanism lets the shield come off by hand.
Optics and fitting
The coloured coating sits on the outside; looking through, you get the optical class 1 quality KYT specifies for its R2R visors and the full width of the full-vision opening. The anti-scratch treatment helps the blue keep an even appearance after many cleanings. Fitting uses the R2R Quick Visor Change, so trying the blue against a clear shield on your own helmet takes a minute.
Before you order
This visor fits the KYT R2R and nothing else in the KYT range; TT-Revo and R1R have their own. It is Pinlock-ready, yet sold without an insert. Owners who received the Pinlock MaxVision 70 with their R2R from us can fit that one. We carry 13 R2R helmets, so you can also pick a new helmet and this shield together. Country rules on mirrored and tinted shields vary, so check what applies to you.
