DescriptionThe whole story▼
This first matte Shaytan 2 colourway again has no manufacturer product photograph at the time of writing. The supplier's price list names the colour Black Blue Purple, darker and cooler-toned than the glossy Black Blue Yellow version, and — following the same Shaytan-family naming logic — expected to carry a related but distinct graphic on a matte rather than glossy base. Positioned as the cooler-toned of the two Shaytan 2 Mat options, this blue-purple colourway would, by the naming pattern Shark uses elsewhere in the line, likely carry its accent colour as a smaller highlight against black rather than as a dominant base tone — unconfirmed without a photograph.
Finish
Recorded as matte in Shark's price list, distinguishing it from the glossy Shaytan 2 colourway and aligning it with the darker, more subdued end of this line's palette. No further detail on the exact graphic is given beyond the supplier's own colour naming, pending photography. The matte finish, unlike the exact graphic layout, is confirmed directly from Shark's own price-list entry for this colour code rather than inferred.
About this Shaytan 2 colourway
This blue-and-purple colourway is one of two matte Shaytan 2 options in this line, sharing the successor-graphic status described above (replacing the discontinued original Shaytan decor, articles HE8114/HE8115) but on a distinct colour code from its red-and-anthracite sibling documented separately.
ECE 22.06 on this Shaytan 2 Mat colourway
Like the rest of the Spartan RS range, this blue-and-purple Shaytan 2 Mat is certified to ECE 22.06 — the EU's current mandatory standard since January 2024, replacing 22.05's five-point single-speed protocol with eighteen impact points across multiple speeds, a new oblique-impact test against a rough anvil that twists the shell, and a first-time rotational Brain Injury Criterion score. Shark tests the finished, assembled helmet rather than a bare shell.
Shell material, this Shaytan 2 Mat colourway
The shell under this blue-and-purple Shaytan 2 Mat graphic is multiaxial composite fibre, identical in construction to every other decor in this line and distinct from the carbon Spartan RS sold at a higher price point. Certification, closure type, EPS density and visor family carry across both shells unchanged; carbon buys a lighter first-shell-size figure and a different look, not extra crash protection.
What 1500 g feels like over distance, this Shaytan 2 Mat
This blue-and-purple Shaytan 2 Mat weighs 1500 g at the first shell size per Shark's figure (1530 g on an independent test unit for the line). Neither number is remarkable in either direction for a fibre full-face helmet. What matters is that the mass sits on the neck continuously through the whole ride — braking, leaning, head-checks — rather than being a static number that only matters when the helmet is off.
Ventilation, this Shaytan 2 Mat colourway
Air enters through a chin-bar intake and a forehead intake and exits through a permanently open rear-spoiler exhaust — the same system fitted across the whole Spartan RS fibre range. The sliders work fine with gloves but, lacking detent clicks, need to be set by feel for intermediate positions. It is enough airflow for daily use, not a headline feature.
Sun visor and outer visor, this Shaytan 2 Mat colourway
The internal sun visor drops for near-total face coverage with its own click-stop positions, rated well by independent testers. The outer visor is the same VZ300 family as the rest of the line: optical class 1, 2.8 mm to 2.2 mm thickness, four-point anchoring, central lock, anti-scratch coating, clear Pinlock 120 pre-fitted.
Visor handling, this Shaytan 2 Mat colourway
Tool-free removal via the four-point lock applies to this decor exactly as to the rest of the line, so a spare or tinted visor swap takes minutes rather than a workshop visit. Anti-scratch coating comes standard, not as a paid option.
Comms compatibility, this Shaytan 2 Mat colourway
This shell keeps the same cheek-pad recess as every other Spartan RS decor, built for Shark's Sharktooth intercom or a SENA For SHARK unit to mount flush. The comms hardware is a separate purchase.
Fit, this Shaytan 2 Mat colourway
The XS-to-XXL size run sits on two shell sizes, a limitation reviewers note against the three-shell ideal for a top helmet. The internal shape is praised as rounder than many rivals, specifically suiting riders who find Shoei or Arai too oval, and the cheek pads can be swapped independently of shell size for further fit adjustment.
Wind noise, this Shaytan 2 Mat colourway
No manufacturer dB rating exists. Independent testing offers two qualitative takes: unremarkable, appropriate noise at legal speeds from one reviewer, and an unmeasured concern from another about extra motorway wind noise from the missing Spartan GT-style neck roll. Neither is treated as more authoritative than the other here.
Spare parts, this Shaytan 2 Mat colourway
This decor's VZ300 visor is covered by the same dedicated Spartan RS spare-parts listing as the rest of the range, and because that visor family is shared with the Spartan RS Carbon and the Spartan GT Pro Carbon, replacement stock is spread across three current lines rather than tied to one colourway.
Where this sits in Shark's own range
This blue-and-purple Shaytan 2 Mat colourway is 389.99 EUR. Within Shark's own current price list rather than an outside comparison:
| Line | UVP range | Shell |
|---|---|---|
| Skwal i3 | 319.99 - 399.99 EUR | Thermoplastic, LED brake light |
| OXO | 349.99 - 459.99 EUR | Thermoplastic modular |
| Spartan RS (this decor: 389.99 EUR) | 359.99 - 389.99 EUR | Multiaxial composite fibre |
| Spartan RS Carbon | 429.99 - 529.99 EUR | Carbon, same VZ300 visor family |
| Spartan GT Pro Carbon | 549.99 - 629.99 EUR | Carbon, also shares the VZ300 visor |
Limitations, honestly
Photography for this colourway has not been published yet, so Black Blue Purple is repeated here as the supplier wrote it rather than confirmed against an image — worth flagging before ordering sight unseen. It shares its HE8129 base code with a second, red-toned Shaytan 2 Mat listed separately in this line; the colour code is what actually tells the two apart. The two-shell sizing and unmeasured wind noise described above apply equally here. Ordering this specific colour code before Shark publishes a photograph means relying on the Black Blue Purple name alone, a different level of certainty than the six photographed decors elsewhere in this line offer.
