DescriptionThe whole story▼
Please note: sale to France is prohibited.
TC-2 is the dark blue Jammer, and it is the version of this graphic that behaves most like a solid. Deep blue holds the drawing without shouting it, which suits riders who want the helmet to look finished rather than sponsored.
What this helmet is for — and what it is not
🔵 No visor means no Pinlock, no sun shield and no anti-fog system of any kind. Your goggles carry all of that, which is why goggle choice matters as much on this helmet as visor choice does on a road one.
The aperture is unusually generous — MCN's test took motocross goggles without difficulty — but frames differ, so try the helmet with the goggles you actually ride in.
About the Jammer TC-2 graphic
Dark blue occupies useful ground on an off-road helmet. It hides dry dust noticeably better than black does — a fine brown film reads as grey haze on black and almost disappears on navy — while still giving the graphic enough contrast to be legible. It also happens to be one of the few colours that works across the major bike brands rather than tying the helmet to one of them, which matters if you change machines more often than helmets. Heat behaves as it does with any dark shell: more absorbed than a white one, largely offset by seven intakes and eight exhausts. 🔵 The usual graphic caveats apply — a higher price than a solid, and no touching in a chipped print. Order replacement peaks and mouthpieces against the TC number rather than the graphic name.
What MOTORCYCLE NEWS measured
Ventilation is where this helmet stands apart, and it is not our word for it — MCN called the airflow exceptional in their March 2026 test of the 06. Seven intakes and eight exhausts on a helmet weighing 1250 g is a lot of through-flow for very little mass.
The overall rating was 4 out of 5. 🔵 The point they marked it down on was wind noise on the road, which is what an open goggle aperture costs.
AIM+, four shells, double-D and EQRS
AIM+ is a grade above the AIM used in Shoei's road helmets, and the difference is the layup: six layers combining fibreglass with organic and high-performance fibres, rather than glass alone. Off-road loads are different from road loads — sharper, more localised, more often repeated — and the shell is built for that.
Four shell sizes, multi-density EPS, double-D ring, EQRS.
M.E.D.S. — and why it is not MIPS
The M.E.D.S. principle is straightforward once described: instead of the impact liner being one rigid assembly, part of it is mounted so that it can move a controlled amount relative to the rest. That movement absorbs rotational energy that would otherwise pass straight through to the head.
🔵 It sits inside the EPS structure rather than being a separate sliding layer — which is the fundamental difference between it and MIPS.
Seven in, eight out, and a filter in the nose
Airflow only happens if there is somewhere for the air to go, which is why the exhaust count is higher than the intake count. Eight outlets create enough low pressure to keep the seven intakes actually flowing rather than merely open — a distinction plenty of helmets get wrong.
The nose cover adds a metal mesh and a replaceable filter at the front, catching dust without restricting the flow.
Sizing, goggles and Max-Dry
🔵 A new competition helmet should feel firm but never painful. The interior beds in slightly over the first few hours of use, so a helmet that is perfect in the shop will usually be loose by the end of the season — start tighter than comfortable.
Cheek pads in several thicknesses let you correct it in either direction, and the whole interior is removable and washable.
How loud it is on the road
Worth setting expectations honestly rather than after the purchase. This is among the loudest helmet types made, and the VFX-WR 06 is no exception — that is what fifteen vents, an open goggle aperture and a peak add up to.
🔵 It is also, per the same independent test, exceptionally ventilated, extremely comfortable and light at 1250 g. Those things are related.
Where it sits in Shoei's range
🔵 If you are comparing against competition helmets from other brands, the two questions worth asking are which ECE standard they hold and how many shell sizes they use. Plenty of off-road helmets are still sold to the superseded 22.05, and plenty use two shells across six sizes.
The VFX-WR 06 is ECE 22.06 with four shell sizes and a six-layer AIM+ composite shell.

When something breaks
Peaks are the most-replaced part on any motocross helmet and this one is no exception. They are engineered to break away under load rather than to resist it, which protects your neck at the cost of the peak — and they are cheap enough that this is the right trade.
Spare peak screws are in the box; replacement peaks, mouthpieces and mud guards are stocked here.
