White shell with camel trim is the most classic-looking combination in the Y.10 range, and the one that reads least like a modern helmet. It is also, by some distance, the most visible of the Sunny versions.

What an open-face helmet does and does not do

People assume a jet is a summer helmet and a full-face is a serious one. Neither is quite right. The Y.10 is a properly built helmet — Polyfusion shell, two shell sizes, three market approvals — for a category that happens to leave the face open.

🔵 That opening is the absence of a chin bar, not a ventilation feature, and it is why a full-face protects more.

About the Sunny White Camel finish

Warm trim against a white shell is a period combination — it is what open-face helmets looked like before black plastic edging became standard — and on a helmet with this much visible opening it does most of the design work. The practical case runs alongside it: white is the easiest shell here for a driver to resolve in flat urban light, and it stays cooler in summer sun than any dark finish. 🔵 Both the shell and the trim show dirt sooner than a darker combination. The camel trim in particular is the part that will show wear first, because it is in constant contact with your face.

Polyfusion, two shells and three approvals

🔵 A thermoplastic shell is not a lesser shell, it is a different manufacturing route — and on a helmet at this price it is the only route that makes sense. What matters is the approval it holds, and this one holds the current European standard in full.

The sun visor, the peak — and the clear visor that is not there

🔵 A note on tinted screens and the law. Tinted visors are not road-legal at night or in poor visibility in most European countries, and rules differ between them. On this helmet the shield retracts fully, which is the compliant answer — but with nothing clear behind it, retracting means an unprotected face.

Glasses or goggles are the practical solution for dark and wet riding.

Airflow on an open-face

A pale shell does more for interior temperature on this helmet than any vent setting, because the face opening already handles the airflow. If you ride in genuine heat, the white, pastel or grey versions run measurably cooler than the blacks.

Interior, glasses and the buckle

The liner is breathable rather than plush, which is the correct choice for a helmet worn in city heat and taken off at every stop. It dries faster than a dense foam-and-fabric interior and it does not hold sweat.

🔵 It is fully removable and washable, and cut slim to work with spectacle arms.

Intercom — and the 45 mm limit

🔵 If navigation prompts are the reason you want an intercom, a jet has a genuine advantage: you can hear ambient traffic alongside the audio, which on a full-face is much harder.

Universal audio sets up to 45 mm fit this helmet; no system is included.

1325 grams, and the rest of the honest list

Perceived weight and actual weight are different things, and an open-face flatters both. At 1325 g the Y.10 is genuinely light; because there is no chin bar out front, it also feels lighter than the figure suggests.

🔵 The absences are real: no chin protection, no clear screen, no independent rating, and considerable wind noise above 80 km/h.

Choosing the right size

Two outer shell sizes rather than one is what keeps the smallest Y.10 in proportion — a single shell scaled across XXS to XXL leaves small heads inside a helmet that is visibly too big for them.

🔵 XXS–L uses the smaller shell; XL–XXL the larger. Measure around the widest part of your head.

When something wears out

The serviceable parts list on this helmet is short because the helmet is simple: liner, padding, peak and the drop-down sun visor. That is essentially everything except the shell and the impact liner.

🔵 Neither of those two is replaceable after an impact — a crushed EPS liner does not recover.

Where it sits in Nexx's range

Nexx's range splits by shell material rather than by category: Polyfusion thermoplastic for the Y-range, composite and carbon for the X-range. The Y.10 sits at the accessible end of the first group.
