Gold against exposed 3K weave is the boldest of the Zero Pro finishes and the one that most obviously announces the shell underneath. It is a deliberate choice rather than a subtle one.

A streetfighter shell with a spoiler that works

🔵 Worth being clear about what this helmet is for. City, country roads and motorway — a road helmet with an internal sun visor, a micrometric ratchet and a sealed visor. It has no peak, takes no goggles and is not designed for unpaved surfaces.

About the Zero Pro Carbon Gold finish

Gold works on carbon for a reason that has nothing to do with fashion: it is the one accent colour with a value far enough above dark weave to create real contrast without introducing a competing hue. That is why it appears so consistently on carbon components across motorcycling. On this shell it traces the spoiler and the aperture edges, which is where the design's structure actually lives. 🔵 It is also the version most likely to look dated if gold-on-carbon falls out of fashion — the plain Zero Pro will not. And as with all exposed weave, a deep scratch cannot be touched in.

The X-PRO Carbon 3K shell

Carbon costs more for two reasons and only one is material: the layup is more labour-intensive, and on exposed-weave finishes the surface has to be good enough to show. That is why the bare-carbon versions sit above the painted ones built on the identical shell.

This is X-PRO Carbon 3K at 1600 g, 75 g under the X-Matrix2 composite.

Anti-Vibration EPS — two shells and a rubber layer

What this changes is the character of the helmet over an hour rather than in the first five minutes. Buffeting that would arrive as a constant fine shimmer is damped by the rubber interlayer between the EPS shells.

🔵 Nexx presents it as safety-adjacent — head stability — rather than as impact protection, and that is how it appears here.

Recoil visor, sun visor and the spare in the bag

🔵 A note on tinted visors and the law. Fixed dark visors are not road-legal at night or in poor visibility in most European countries, and the rules differ between them. On this helmet the question largely disappears: the internal sun visor drops behind a clear outer visor and retracts instantly.

Both supplied visors are clear, and one comes with a Pinlock 70 MaxVision lens fitted.

Six intakes, two chambers — and a 4/5 measurement

The intakes on this helmet are integrated into the shell's shaping rather than bolted on, which is part of why the design reads as aerodynamic rather than decorated. Six of them, feeding two internal air chambers and two rear exhausts.

Independent testing scored the ventilation 4 out of 5.

How quiet it actually is

🔵 One thing worth checking on any helmet at this price: whether air whistles with the visor fully closed. On the X.WST3 the spring-loaded plates pull the visor into twin-lip beads, so a whistle usually means a dirty or aged bead rather than a design fault.

Interior, retention and fit

Three outer shell sizes do the coarse fitting; cheek pads in different thicknesses do the fine. Measure around the widest part of your head, about 1–2 cm above the eyebrows, and compare against the chart on this page.

🔵 The fit was independently found intermediate-to-round oval — if long-oval helmets have pinched your forehead before, this one may not.

1600 grams, and the rest of the honest list

Three outer shell sizes mean the weight you receive depends on your size — an XXXL carries considerably more material than an XXS. The published 1600 g does not state which size it describes.

🔵 The composite version's claim was independently confirmed at mid-range size M, which suggests these are typical rather than best-case figures.

Comms, camera and spare parts

🔵 If you plan to run comms, buy X-COM3 rather than a generic unit. The recesses, cable routes and microphone position in this shell are sized for it, and a system that sits in the helmet rather than on it is both quieter and less likely to be knocked.

Standard and PRO versions are available; the PRO adds 2.0 Mesh and Harman Kardon sound.
