DescriptionThe whole story▼
Dark blue with orange is the most complex B-Side and the one with the widest value range — a deep ground, a mid teal and a bright accent. At distance it is the most legible graphic on the composite shell.
A streetfighter shell with a spoiler that works
🔵 „Streetfighter" usually means a helmet that looks aggressive and behaves like any other. This one has a rear spoiler that genuinely manages airflow, a two-part EPS that damps vibration, and a measured noise figure of 100 dB — which is quiet for the shape.
The independent overall score was 3.9/5; MCN gave it 4/5.
About the B-Side Blue Teal Orange graphic
A three-value graphic has a practical advantage a two-tone one does not: at distance, in poor light or against a cluttered urban background, at least one of the three will always be separating from what is behind it. That is legibility rather than decoration, and on a road helmet in traffic it is the argument that matters. Orange in particular is one of the shades the eye resolves fastest in flat light. The dark blue ground does the dirt-hiding work, so the helmet stays presentable between washes. 🔵 Orange pigment fades faster than most under sustained UV — storage out of direct sun does more for it than any polish.
The X-Matrix2 shell
The X-Foam bumper at the chin is the part of the protective package riders overlook. It is an ultralight EPP layer at the region a full-face helmet most often strikes first, intended to absorb impact energy before the shell alone has to.
Around it: the X-Matrix2 multi-composite shell at 1675 g, in three outer shell sizes, made in Portugal.
| Shell | Construction | Weight | Decors |
|---|---|---|---|
| X-Matrix2 | multiaxial fibreglass multi-composite | 1675 g claimed — 1673 g measured (size M) | Plain, B-Side |
| X-PRO Carbon 3K | 3K carbon fibre | 1600 g claimed | Manga, Zero Pro, Hadal, Lava |
Anti-Vibration EPS — two shells and a rubber layer
A streetfighter shell is aggressively shaped, and aggressive shapes generate turbulence. Rather than smoothing the design into something anonymous, Nexx isolated the rider from part of what it produces — a rubber interlayer between the two EPS shells.
The rear spoiler works on the same problem from the outside.
Recoil visor, sun visor and the spare in the bag
Nexx supplies the anti-fog lens fitted rather than boxed, which sounds like a detail and is not: a Pinlock lens installed at the factory sits on correctly tensioned pins, where a badly seated one distorts and leaks air at the edges.
🔵 The replacement code is DKS553. The lens is a consumable — the silicone seal loses grip and the surface clouds after a few seasons.
Six intakes, two chambers — and a 4/5 measurement
What ventilation actually manages is humidity as much as heat: sweat that cannot evaporate stays in the liner, and a saturated liner is what makes a long day uncomfortable well before temperature does.
The X-Mart Dry interior and the alveolar-mesh crown pad work on that alongside the vents. Measured ventilation score: 4/5.
How quiet it actually is
Two riders will describe the same helmet completely differently, and neither will be wrong: height, riding position, screen and shoulder airflow change the result more than the shell does.
🔵 The one comparable figure is the measured one: 100 dB average, scored 4 out of 5 in an independent road test.
Interior, retention and fit
🔵 A new helmet should feel firm but never painful. The liner beds in over the first few hours and again over the first season, so a helmet that is perfect in the shop will usually be loose by summer's end. Start tighter than comfortable.
Comfort was independently scored 4/5, with the fit found intermediate-to-round oval.
1675 grams claimed, 1673 measured
🔵 No independent safety rating exists for this helmet. SHARP has no entry for the X.WST3, and there is no ADAC or Snell result. That means untested rather than poorly rated, but it is a gap in the evidence and worth knowing.
What has been measured: overall 3.9/5, noise 100 dB at 4/5, ventilation 4/5, comfort 4/5, weight 2/5 at 1673 g.
Comms, camera and spare parts
The side camera mount is a single dedicated position rather than a kit — simpler than the multi-mount systems on Nexx's adventure helmets, and appropriate for a road helmet where a chin mount would spoil the aerodynamics the spoiler is there to manage.
🔵 The camera is not supplied.
