DescriptionThe whole story▼
Part of owning a Thruxton 900 is the ride-out: a handful of classic-styled bikes leaving a café together, threading through villages and gathering again at the next stop. Riding in a group puts particular demands on the left hand, because every junction and every set of lights means pulling away in company. The Accossato EST333 is a clutch lever for the air-cooled Thruxton of 2004 to 2015, machined from aluminium and adjustable in reach, so the blade can wait exactly where your fingers look for it.
Key Features
- Clutch lever for the Triumph Thruxton 900, 2004 to 2015
- Mounts at the original clutch mounting, replacing the stock lever
- Grip distance adjustable, adjuster near the pivot
- Standard blade about 138 mm in all colours; short in blue, gold, green, orange and silver; long in blue, gold, green and orange
- Solid aluminium, CNC-machined and anodised
- Black hub, blade in black, blue, red, orange, gold, silver or green
- One-piece blade without a folding joint
- For track use, as no German ABE is documented
Construction and Material Quality
This lever is milled out of solid aluminium and anodised once machining is complete. On every version the hub is black; that is the end with the pivot and the adjuster, tucked in beside the switchgear. The blade is where the colour goes, and on a classic twin the silver or black versions blend in, while gold, green or orange make a deliberate contrast. The EST333 is rigid along its entire length. No joint sits between hub and tip, so the effort from your fingers passes straight to the clutch mounting without a hinge absorbing any of it.
Pulling Away in a Group
Group riding is mostly about being predictable. The rider behind you judges the gap by how you move, and at a junction where several bikes set off one after another, a jerky start or a stall forces everyone behind to react. On the Thruxton 900 much of that comes down to the left hand. Fingers learn where the clutch begins to bite, and a lever set to your hand makes that place easy to find again at every junction, without a glance down, while your eyes stay on the traffic and on the bike in front. Long ride-outs add a second reason. With the blade within easy reach, the hand does less stretching at each stop, and by the afternoon you notice the difference. Many riders keep the standard blade for this kind of riding; the long one gives the fingers a little more leverage and makes the pull feel lighter, which some welcome after a full day in the saddle.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato lists the EST333 for the Thruxton 900 from 2004 to 2015 and names the 2012 Steve McQueen SE among the versions. It replaces the original clutch lever at the standard mounting, and the EDF014 does the same job on the brake side of these bikes. If you want both levers in one colour, remember that black and red are made in the standard length only.
Road Approval
The EST333 has no German ABE on file. We therefore sell it for use on closed circuits.
