Vibetrack in Pink und Lila: Über die schwarze Schale ziehen an der Flanke diagonale Streifen, deren Farbe von Pink nach Lila überblendet. Ein Motiv, das Bewegung andeutet, ohne die gesamte Fläche einzunehmen. Der Helm darunter ist der Skwal i3, jenes Shark-Modell, bei dem Leuchtdioden fest in der Schale verbaut sind und bei jedem Bremsvorgang von selbst arbeiten — rote Elemente im Heck, weiße an der Stirn. Nach Angaben des Herstellers ist es der erste Serienhelm mit dieser Lösung.
Nichts zu koppeln, nichts zu verkabeln
Das Leuchtsystem steht für sich. Es bezieht keine Information vom Motorrad, weder über eine Leitung noch über Funk, sondern verlässt sich auf einen Beschleunigungssensor im Helm, der drei Raumachsen auswertet. Erkennt er eine übliche Verzögerung, taktet das rote Heckfeld dreimal je Sekunde; bei kräftiger Verzögerung fünfmal. Die weißen Leuchten an der Vorderseite sind davon getrennt und dienen einzig Ihrer Sichtbarkeit nach vorn. Dass kein Bluetooth verbaut ist, hat einen praktischen Nebeneffekt: Es gibt keine Verbindung, die abbricht, und keine Firmware, die gepflegt werden will.
Was das Dekor im Verkehr bedeutet
Diagonale Streifen an der Flanke werden vor allem aus seitlicher Perspektive wahrgenommen — also genau dort, wo ein einbiegendes Fahrzeug Sie sieht. Die Farbkombination aus Pink und Lila hebt sich dabei besser von grauen Stadthintergründen ab als reines Schwarz. Trotzdem gilt der Grundsatz dieses Helms: Die Signalwirkung kommt vom Licht, nicht vom Lack, denn eine Lackierung wirkt immer gleich, das Bremslicht dagegen genau im entscheidenden Moment. Zur Pflege: Die Oberfläche verträgt handelsübliche Helmreiniger; für den Erhalt des Farbverlaufs genügt regelmäßiges Abwischen mit einem weichen Tuch.
Ladevorgang und Ruhezustände
Die verbaute Zelle ist versiegelt und nicht für einen Wechsel gedacht. Nachgeladen wird per USB-C; Shark hat für das Kabel einen Platz im Nackenschutz vorgesehen. Ungefähr drei Stunden am Netz ergeben etwa zwölf Stunden Leuchtbetrieb. Anschließend regelt eine Automatik den Verbrauch: Bereitschaft nach einer Minute ohne erkannte Bewegung, vollständige Abschaltung nach 72 Stunden ohne Nutzung. Die Anleitung beschreibt auch den Zustand kurz vor null — das System lässt sich noch aktivieren, beendet sich dann aber beinahe augenblicklich und verlangt nach dem Ladegerät.
Schale, Dämpfung, Verschluss
Die äußere Hülle ist aus Polycarbonat gespritzt, Markenbezeichnung Lexan. Die Energieaufnahme übernimmt ein EPS-Kern mit mehreren Dichtestufen, der zonenweise unterschiedlich nachgibt. Geschlossen wird der Kinnriemen über einen Mikrometrik-Verschluss — ein gezahntes Band, das einrastet und eine wiederholbare Spannung liefert; ein Zug am Bändchen öffnet ihn, auch mit Handschuhen. Ein Doppel-D-Ring, wie ihn der Skwal Cup trägt, ist an diesem Modell nicht verbaut.
Belüftung
Die Luftführung verläuft mehrkanalig von der Stirn zum Hinterkopf. Shark nennt dazu keine Stückzahlen; nachgezählt hat eine unabhängige Testredaktion vier Einlässe und zwei Extraktoren. Angaben zur Verschließbarkeit der Öffnungen liegen nicht vor, und wir ergänzen keine.
Scheibe und Beschlagschutz
Verbaut ist ein Visier der Familie VZ400, die auch am D-Skwal 3, Ridill 2, Skwal Cup und Skwal i Cup läuft. Die Einstufung lautet optische Klasse 1, die Materialstärke geht von drei auf 2,2 Millimeter zurück, und ein Vortex-Generator ist Teil der Kontur. Die Oberfläche trägt eine kratzfeste Beschichtung. Ein Pinlock-70-Einsatz ist ab Werk eingelegt und in der Anpressung nachstellbar, was bei Kälte und Regen unmittelbar wirkt. Der Wechsel erfolgt über einen zentralen Griff mit Mittelverriegelung, Werkzeug wird nicht benötigt. Sharks selbsttönende IRID-Technik ist für den Skwal i3 nicht freigegeben; dafür listet der Hersteller AERON GP, AERON und RACE R PRO.
Norm und Prüfumfang
Der Helm erfüllt ECE 22.06, in der EU seit Januar 2024 Voraussetzung für neu homologierte Modelle. Der Unterschied zur Vorgängerfassung fällt größer aus, als die Ziffer vermuten lässt: Geprüft wird an achtzehn statt an fünf Punkten, bei mehreren statt bei einer Aufprallgeschwindigkeit, ergänzt um einen Schrägaufprall gegen einen rauen Amboss für Dreh- und Streifbelastung. Erstmals wird außerdem das Brain Injury Criterion für Rotationskräfte erhoben. Geprüft wird der komplette Helm mit Visier, Pinlock und montierter Sprechanlage. Auf dem Zeichen steht 2206 ohne FIM-Zusatz.
Gewicht
Die Angabe des Herstellers lautet 1.570 Gramm und gilt der ersten, kleinsten Schale — nicht der Größe M. Eine unabhängige Langzeitbesprechung nennt denselben Wert, ebenfalls ohne Größenbezug, sodass beide Quellen die Zahl stützen und die Zuordnung offenlassen. Eine M-Angabe existiert in keiner Quelle und wird hier nicht ergänzt. Im Alltag zählt das, weil die Nackenmuskulatur die Masse über den gesamten Fahrtag trägt. Zum Vergleich bewegen sich straßenzugelassene Integralhelme aus unserem Programm ungefähr zwischen 1.250 und 1.800 Gramm.
Sonnenblende und Alltagsdetails
Ein Schieber am Scheitel senkt die innenliegende Blende ab, ohne Halt und ohne Visierwechsel. Für Brillenträger ist das Futter mit einem Kanal für die Bügel ausgelegt. Kommunikationseinheiten der Sharktooth- und SENA-Reihe lassen sich ohne Eingriff montieren. Die Garantiedauer beträgt fünf Jahre.
Lautstärke
Ein Messwert in Dezibel liegt für diesen Helm in keiner Quelle vor, auf die wir uns stützen — und wir setzen keinen ein. Was dokumentiert ist: Eine unabhängige Dauererprobung beschreibt den Geräuschpegel als nicht ungewöhnlich hoch und findet keine einzelne Stelle der Schale, die für sich Windgeräusche erzeugt. Zugeschrieben wird das dem beidseits kräftigen Nackenpolster und einem großzügigen Kinnvorhang. Der persönliche Eindruck hängt zusätzlich von Windschild und Sitzhaltung ab.
Größen
Sechs Größen von XS bis XXL stehen bereit. Zur Zahl der Rohschalen äußert sich Shark nicht, und wir übernehmen keine unbelegte Angabe. Maßgeblich für die Passform ist der gemessene Kopfumfang.
Preisliche Einordnung
Dieses Dekor kostet 349,99 €. Die übrigen Straßenmodelle der Marke: Ridill 2 ab 189,99 €, D-Skwal 3 ab 219,99 €, Skwal Cup je nach Ausführung zwischen 269,99 € und 339,99 €. Keines davon hat Leuchten an Bord. Das einzige weitere LED-Modell im Shark-Programm ist der Skwal i Cup ab 329,99 €. Der Mehrpreis gegenüber den leuchtlosen Helmen geht auf Sensorik, Akku und Leuchtmittel zurück.
Ersatzteile
Die VZ400-Scheibe und der Pinlock-70-Einsatz werden unter Artikelnummern geführt, die fünf Shark-Modelle gemeinsam nutzen. Eine zerkratzte Scheibe ist damit ein planbarer Nachkauf und kein Grund, den Helm zu ersetzen.
Was ausdrücklich nicht dabei ist
Der Skwal i3 hat keine SHARP-Bewertung. Die britische Prüfstelle hat den alten Skwal und den Skwal 2 geprüft und jeweils vier Sterne vergeben — andere Helme, ohne dieses Lichtsystem, ohne Übertragbarkeit. Zugelassen ist der Helm nur nach ECE 22.06 ohne FIM. Nicht vorhanden sind MIPS, ein elektronisches Notentriegelungssystem, Tear-off-Stifte und die IRID-Freigabe; der Verschluss ist eine Ratsche, kein Doppel-D-Ring. Der wichtigste Vorbehalt betrifft die Nutzung der Leuchte im deutschen Straßenverkehr: Sie ist nicht geklärt. Shark behauptet keine Zulassung, sondern überträgt die Prüfung der Landesgesetzgebung in der Bedienungsanleitung dem Fahrer und weist für das Lichtsystem weder E-Prüfzeichen noch Homologationsnummer aus. In unserer Recherche fand sich weder eine Bestätigung der StVZO-Konformität noch ein ausdrückliches Verbot. Wir stellen das so dar, statt uns für eine Seite zu entscheiden. Eine verbindliche Auskunft erteilen TÜV oder Zulassungsstelle, und das Bremslicht des Motorrads bleibt davon unberührt.
