Ready Matte überträgt die Grafik der glänzenden Ready-Dekore auf eine matte schwarze Schale und ersetzt dabei die kräftige Farbe durch eine Zeichnung in Weiß und Grau. Das Resultat ist deutlich zurückgenommener, ohne auf die klare Linienführung zu verzichten. Im Kern steckt der Skwal i3: ein Integralhelm, in dessen Schale aktive LED-Bremsleuchten sitzen — hinten rot, vorn weiß — und den Shark als ersten Serienhelm mit dieser Ausstattung führt.
Passform und Größen zuerst
Sechs Größen von XS bis XXL deckt die Reihe ab. Die Anzahl der Rohschalen, auf die sich diese Größen verteilen, veröffentlicht Shark nicht. In Händlerbeschreibungen kursieren Zahlen dazu; belegen lässt sich keine, deshalb bleibt dieser Punkt hier offen. Was tatsächlich über die Passform entscheidet, ist der gemessene Kopfumfang im Abgleich mit der Größentabelle — nicht die Zahl der Schalenformen. Für Brillenträger wurde die Innenausstattung eigens überarbeitet, damit die Bügel in einen Kanal laufen und nicht an der Schläfe drücken.
Der Mechanismus hinter dem Bremslicht
Im Helm arbeitet ein Sensor, der Beschleunigung entlang dreier Achsen erfasst. Er braucht weder eine Leitung zum Motorrad noch eine Funkverbindung, sondern erkennt direkt am Kopf des Fahrers, dass verzögert wird. Ein üblicher Bremsvorgang löst drei Lichtimpulse pro Sekunde an den roten Heckelementen aus, eine Vollbremsung fünf. Davon unabhängig leuchten weiße Dioden an der Front und markieren Ihre Position gegenüber entgegenkommendem Verkehr. Eine Bluetooth-Kopplung oder eine App gehört nicht zum Konzept.
Energie
Der Stromspeicher ist fest verbaut und nicht wechselbar. Aufgeladen wird über USB-C, das Kabel hat seinen Platz im Nackenschutz. Shark gibt ungefähr drei Stunden Ladezeit an, aus der etwa zwölf Stunden Betrieb im Blinkmodus werden. Zwei Automatiken sparen Energie: Bereitschaft nach 60 Sekunden ohne Bewegung, vollständige Abschaltung nach 72 Stunden ohne Nutzung. Ist der Speicher fast leer, beschreibt der Hersteller das Verhalten offen — das System lässt sich noch starten, beendet sich aber praktisch sofort und braucht dann Strom.
Matte Oberfläche im Umgang
Matter Lack hat zwei Eigenschaften, die man kennen sollte. Die angenehme: Feine Kratzer und Wischspuren fallen kaum auf, weil keine Spiegelung sie betont. Die unangenehme: Schleifende Politur und lösemittelhaltige Reiniger sind tabu, weil sie einzelne Stellen anglänzen lassen, was sich nicht rückgängig machen lässt. Ein weiches, leicht feuchtes Tuch genügt. Die weiß-graue Grafik dieses Dekors ist bewusst neutral gehalten — wer Auffälligkeit sucht, findet sie bei diesem Helm nicht in der Lackierung, sondern im Licht.
Werkstoffe und Kinnriemen
Die Außenschale entsteht im Spritzguss aus Polycarbonat der Marke Lexan. Darunter arbeitet ein EPS-Körper, dessen Dichte über die Struktur variiert, sodass die Dämpfung zonenweise unterschiedlich reagiert. Geschlossen wird per Mikrometrik-Ratsche: gezahntes Band, rastet ein, ergibt jeden Tag dieselbe Spannung und öffnet mit einem Zug. Der Skwal Cup setzt an dieser Stelle auf einen Doppel-D-Ring, dieses Modell nicht.
Belüftungswege
Der Hersteller spricht von Mehrkanalbelüftung zwischen Zuluft an der Front und Abluft am Hinterkopf, nennt aber keine Stückzahlen. Eine unabhängige Testredaktion hat vier Einlässe und zwei Auslässe gezählt. Ob die Einlässe schließbar sind, ist in keiner der hier verwendeten Quellen festgehalten.
Das Visier
Zum Einsatz kommt die Scheibenfamilie VZ400, die sich der Skwal i3 mit D-Skwal 3, Ridill 2, Skwal Cup und Skwal i Cup teilt. Sie ist nach optischer Klasse 1 eingestuft, kratzfest beschichtet und verjüngt sich von drei Millimetern am Rand auf 2,2 Millimeter im Sichtfeld. Ein Vortex-Generator ist in die Form eingearbeitet. Der Pinlock-70-Einsatz kommt vormontiert und lässt sich in der Anpressspannung justieren — bei feuchtem Wetter ist das der Unterschied zwischen freier Sicht und ständigem Lüften. Entnommen wird die Scheibe über den zentralen Griff mit Mittelverriegelung, ohne Werkzeug. Selbsttönende IRID-Scheiben bietet Shark dafür nicht an; freigegeben sind nur AERON GP, AERON und RACE R PRO.
Zur Gewichtsangabe
Shark nennt 1.570 Gramm für die erste, kleinste Schalengröße. Eine Zahl für Größe M gibt es in keiner Quelle, die wir verwenden — auch eine unabhängige Langzeiterprobung führt denselben Wert, ohne die Größe zu präzisieren. Wer XL oder XXL trägt, sollte entsprechend mehr erwarten, ohne dass wir eine Schätzung einsetzen. Die Relevanz liegt in der Dauer: Gewicht wirkt auf die Nackenmuskulatur über Stunden, nicht über Minuten. Als Vergleichsrahmen liegen straßenzugelassene Integralhelme aus unserem Bestand etwa zwischen 1.250 und 1.800 Gramm.
Sonnenblende und Zubehörfähigkeit
Eine innenliegende Sonnenblende lässt sich über einen Schieber am Scheitel absenken und im Fahren bedienen. Kommunikationssysteme der Reihen Sharktooth und SENA finden ohne Modifikation ihren Platz. Die Herstellergarantie läuft über fünf Jahre, Ersatzteile werden geführt.
Geräusch ohne Messwert
Zu diesem Helm gibt es keine Dezibelangabe in einer Quelle, die wir für belastbar halten, und deshalb nennen wir keine. Berichtet wird aus einer unabhängigen Dauererprobung, dass der Geräuschpegel nicht ungewöhnlich hoch ausfällt und sich keine einzelne Partie der Schale als Verursacher ausmachen lässt. Die Redaktion nennt das beidseitig kräftige Nackenpolster und einen großzügigen Kinnvorhang als Gründe. Wie leise es sich anfühlt, hängt daneben stark von der Windschutzscheibe und der Sitzhaltung ab.
ECE 22.06 im Detail
Der Helm ist nach der aktuellen europäischen Norm zugelassen, die seit Januar 2024 für neue Homologationen gilt. Gegenüber 22.05 hat sich der Prüfaufwand deutlich erhöht: achtzehn Aufschlagpunkte statt fünf, mehrere Aufprallgeschwindigkeiten statt einer einzigen, zusätzlich ein Schrägaufprall auf einen rauen Amboss, der Dreh- und Reibbelastungen einbringt. Neu ist auch die Erhebung des Brain Injury Criterion für Rotationskräfte. Geprüft wird der Helm vollständig, also mit Visier, Pinlock-Einsatz und montierter Kommunikationseinheit. Das Zulassungszeichen lautet 2206 ohne FIM — Straße, nicht Rennstrecke.
Preis im Vergleich
Für dieses Dekor werden 349,99 € aufgerufen. Sharks Straßenreihe darunter: Ridill 2 ab 189,99 €, D-Skwal 3 ab 219,99 €, Skwal Cup je nach Ausführung zwischen 269,99 € und 339,99 €, jeweils ohne Leuchten. Der Skwal i Cup ab 329,99 € ist der einzige weitere Helm mit derselben Technik. Der Abstand zu den leuchtlosen Modellen entspricht im Wesentlichen dem Aufwand für Sensor, Akku und Leuchtmittel.
Ersatzteile
Ein Visier ist bei diesem Helm ein Verschleißteil mit eigener Artikelnummer, die für fünf Shark-Modelle gemeinsam gilt. Dasselbe trifft auf den Pinlock-70-Einsatz zu. Das hält die Nachbeschaffung einfach.
Was dieser Helm nicht leistet
Für den Skwal i3 existiert keine eigene SHARP-Bewertung. Die britische Prüfstelle führt Skwal und Skwal 2 mit vier Sternen — ältere Helme ohne dieses Lichtsystem, deren Ergebnis hier nicht zählt. Homologiert ist allein nach ECE 22.06 ohne FIM-Zusatz. Nicht verbaut sind MIPS und ein elektronisches Notentriegelungssystem; am Visier gibt es keine Tear-off-Stifte, eine IRID-Freigabe fehlt, und der Verschluss ist eine Ratsche statt eines Doppel-D-Rings. Bleibt die Rechtsfrage zur Leuchte: Für den deutschen Straßenverkehr ließ sich nicht klären, ob ihr Betrieb zulässig ist. Der Hersteller beansprucht das nicht, sondern weist in der Bedienungsanleitung ausdrücklich darauf hin, die Gesetzgebung des eigenen Landes zu prüfen, und nennt für das Lichtsystem weder E-Prüfzeichen noch Homologationsnummer. Wir haben weder eine bestätigende noch eine ausschließende Quelle gefunden — weder beim Hersteller noch in der unabhängigen Fachpresse. Das geben wir als offen weiter. Eine verbindliche Antwort bekommen Sie bei TÜV oder Zulassungsstelle; das Helmlicht ist in jedem Fall eine Ergänzung und kein Ersatz für die Bremsleuchte des Motorrads.
