Diese Vibetrack-Ausführung ist die einzige der Reihe, deren Grundfarbe nicht Schwarz ist: Die Schale ist tiefblau lackiert, darauf liegen die diagonalen Flankenstreifen in Silber und Weiß. Wer bewusst keinen schwarzen Helm möchte, hat innerhalb der Skwal-i3-Baureihe hier die Wahl. Die Ausstattung folgt dem Modell: eingebaute LED-Bremsleuchten im Schalenkörper, rot nach hinten, weiß nach vorn, gesteuert von einem Sensor im Helm — laut Shark der erste Serienhelm mit aktivem Bremslicht.
Eine blaue Schale statt einer schwarzen
Der Unterschied ist größer, als er klingt. Ein tiefblauer Helm hebt sich vor dunklem Asphalt und in schlechten Lichtverhältnissen etwas deutlicher ab als ein schwarzer, auch wenn Blau kein Signalton ist. Die silbern-weißen Streifen an der Seite verstärken das aus der Querperspektive, also aus der Richtung, aus der ein abbiegendes Fahrzeug kommt. Technisch bleibt alles identisch zu den schwarzen Varianten; die Entscheidung ist eine des Geschmacks und allenfalls der Sichtbarkeit bei Tageslicht. Die eigentliche Signalwirkung liefert unverändert das Licht, weil es genau dann arbeitet, wenn Sie verzögern, und nicht dauerhaft.
Größen und Passform
Sechs Größen von XS bis XXL stehen zur Verfügung. Auf wie viele Rohschalen sie verteilt sind, veröffentlicht Shark nicht — in Händlerbeschreibungen kursieren Zahlen, belegen lässt sich keine, und deshalb bleibt dieser Punkt hier leer. Die Passform bestimmt der gemessene Kopfumfang im Abgleich mit der Größentabelle. Brillenträgern kommt eine eigens gestaltete Innenausstattung entgegen, bei der die Bügel geführt werden, statt an der Schläfe zu drücken.
Wie die Leuchten arbeiten
Zugrunde liegt ein Beschleunigungssensor, der drei Achsen abtastet und im Helm untergebracht ist. Er erkennt an der Verzögerung Ihres Kopfes, dass gebremst wird, ganz ohne Verbindung zum Fahrzeug. Bei einem gewöhnlichen Bremsvorgang setzen die roten Heckelemente drei Lichtimpulse je Sekunde ab, bei kräftigem Bremsen fünf. Die weißen Dioden an der Front laufen in einem eigenen Kreis, unabhängig vom Bremsen, und markieren Sie gegenüber entgegenkommendem Verkehr. Bluetooth, App oder Kopplung sind nicht Teil des Systems.
Stromversorgung und Automatik
Die Zelle ist fest verbaut und nicht zum Tausch vorgesehen. Nachgeladen wird über USB-C, das Kabel liegt im Nackenschutz bereit. Etwa drei Stunden Ladezeit ergeben rund zwölf Stunden Betrieb im Blinkmodus. Danach greift die Verbrauchssteuerung: Bereitschaft nach 60 Sekunden ohne erkannte Bewegung, vollständige Abschaltung nach 72 Stunden ohne Nutzung. Die Anleitung beschreibt zudem den Zustand bei nahezu leerer Zelle — einschalten gelingt noch, doch das System beendet sich beinahe augenblicklich und muss geladen werden.
Aufbau
Außen liegt eine im Spritzguss gefertigte Polycarbonatschale der Marke Lexan. Dahinter folgt EPS mit mehreren Dichtestufen, damit unterschiedliche Zonen unterschiedlich reagieren, statt dass ein einheitlicher Schaum alles gleich behandelt. Der Kinnriemen schließt per Mikrometrik-Ratsche: gezahntes Band, rastet ein, reproduzierbare Spannung, Öffnen mit einem Zug am Bändchen. Der Doppel-D-Ring des Skwal Cup kommt hier nicht zum Einsatz.
Belüftungsöffnungen
Shark spricht von einer mehrkanaligen Führung zwischen Einlässen an der Front und Extraktoren am Hinterkopf, ohne sie zu beziffern. Eine unabhängige Testredaktion zählt vier Einlässe und zwei Auslässe. Ob die Öffnungen verschließbar sind, ist in keiner belastbaren Quelle vermerkt.
Die Scheibe und ihr Einsatz
Verwendet wird die Visierfamilie VZ400, die auch an D-Skwal 3, Ridill 2, Skwal Cup und Skwal i Cup läuft. Die optische Einstufung lautet Klasse 1, die Stärke geht von drei auf 2,2 Millimeter zurück, und ein Vortex-Generator ist in die Form eingearbeitet. Eine Antikratz-Beschichtung schützt die Oberfläche. Der Pinlock-70-Einsatz ist bereits eingelegt und in der Anpressung justierbar, was bei Kälte und Nässe unmittelbar zählt. Der Wechsel funktioniert werkzeugfrei über den zentralen Griff mit Mittelverriegelung. Selbsttönende IRID-Scheiben bietet Shark für dieses Modell nicht an — freigegeben sind AERON GP, AERON und RACE R PRO.
Was die Norm verlangt
Zugelassen ist der Helm nach ECE 22.06, seit Januar 2024 in der EU Pflicht für neu homologierte Modelle. Der Prüfumfang hat sich gegenüber der Vorgängerfassung deutlich ausgeweitet: achtzehn Aufschlagpunkte statt fünf, mehrere Aufprallgeschwindigkeiten statt einer, dazu ein Schrägaufprall gegen einen rauen Amboss, der Dreh- und Streifkräfte einbringt. Erstmals wird das Brain Injury Criterion als Kennwert für Rotationsbelastung erhoben. Geprüft wird der Helm vollständig ausgerüstet, also mit Visier, Pinlock-Einsatz und montierter Kommunikationseinheit. Die Kennzeichnung 2206 trägt keinen FIM-Zusatz: eine Straßen-, keine Wettbewerbszulassung.
Gewichtsangabe
Der Hersteller nennt 1.570 Gramm und bezieht das ausdrücklich auf die erste, kleinste Schalengröße, nicht auf Größe M. Dieselbe Zahl steht in einer unabhängigen Langzeitbesprechung, wiederum ohne Größenangabe — der Wert ist also belegt, sein Bezugspunkt bleibt unklar, und eine M-Zahl wird hier nicht ergänzt. Von Belang ist das auf langen Strecken, weil die Nackenmuskulatur die Masse über Stunden hält und der Unterschied sich erst dann zeigt. Als Rahmen: Straßenzugelassene Integralhelme aus unserem Programm liegen etwa zwischen 1.250 und 1.800 Gramm.
Sonnenblende und Anschlüsse
Die innenliegende Blende lässt sich über einen Schieber am Scheitel absenken, ohne Halt und ohne Visierwechsel. Kommunikationssysteme der Sharktooth- und SENA-Reihe finden ohne Modifikation ihren Platz. Die Herstellergarantie läuft fünf Jahre, Ersatzteile werden geführt.
Geräusch
Für dieses Modell liegt kein Dezibelwert aus einer Quelle vor, die wir für belastbar halten — folglich steht hier keine Zahl. Dokumentiert ist die Einschätzung einer unabhängigen Dauererprobung: Der Pegel sei nicht ungewöhnlich hoch, und keine einzelne Stelle der Schale erzeuge für sich Windgeräusche. Als Gründe nennt die Redaktion das beidseitig kräftige Nackenpolster und einen großzügigen Kinnvorhang. Was Sie im Sattel hören, hängt zusätzlich von Windschild und Sitzhaltung ab.
Preis
Diese Ausführung kostet 349,99 €. Zur Einordnung die übrigen Straßenmodelle von Shark: Ridill 2 ab 189,99 €, D-Skwal 3 ab 219,99 €, Skwal Cup zwischen 269,99 € und 339,99 € — keines mit Leuchttechnik. Das einzige weitere LED-Modell ist der Skwal i Cup ab 329,99 €. Die Differenz zu den leuchtlosen Helmen entspricht im Kern dem Aufwand für Sensor, Akku und Leuchtmittel.
Ersatzteile für später
Die VZ400-Scheibe steckt in fünf Shark-Modellen, und der Pinlock-70-Einsatz läuft unter derselben gemeinsamen Nummer. Ein zerkratztes Visier ist damit ein Verbrauchsteil und kein Argument für einen neuen Helm.
Offene Punkte und fehlende Ausstattung
Für den Skwal i3 gibt es keine SHARP-Bewertung. Die britische Prüfstelle hat Skwal und Skwal 2 mit vier Sternen bewertet — ältere Helme ohne dieses Lichtsystem, deren Ergebnis hier nicht gilt. Homologiert ist ausschließlich nach ECE 22.06 ohne FIM. Nicht verbaut sind MIPS und ein elektronisches Notentriegelungssystem; am Visier fehlen Tear-off-Stifte, eine IRID-Freigabe gibt es nicht, und der Verschluss ist eine Ratsche statt eines Doppel-D-Rings. Bleibt die Frage nach der Zulässigkeit des Bremslichts auf deutschen Straßen: Sie ist nach unserer Recherche ungeklärt. Shark stellt selbst keine solche Behauptung auf, sondern weist den Fahrer in der Bedienungsanleitung an, die Gesetzgebung seines Landes zu prüfen, und nennt für die Leuchte weder ein E-Prüfzeichen noch eine Homologationsnummer. Weder Hersteller- noch Fachpressequellen bestätigen oder verneinen eine StVZO-Konformität. Wir geben diesen Stand unverändert weiter statt ihn aufzulösen. Verbindlich antworten TÜV oder Zulassungsstelle; die Bremsleuchte am Motorrad bleibt in jedem Fall das maßgebliche Signal.
