Was dieser Helm ist — ehrlich gesagt
🔵 Ein Punkt zur Einordnung von Zulassungen: ECE 22.06 sagt, dass der Helm bestimmte Mindestanforderungen erfüllt. Sie sagt nichts darüber, wie gut er im Vergleich zu anderen zugelassenen Helmen abschneidet.
🔵 Dafür gäbe es SHARP — und dort ist der Stinger 2 nicht geführt.
Zur Core-Grafik in Dunkelblau / Pink
Pink liegt weit außerhalb dessen, was in der Straßenumgebung vorkommt: kein Asphalt, keine Leitplanke, kein Grünstreifen, kein Fahrzeuglack trägt diesen Ton in dieser Sättigung. Das Auge liest ihn deshalb zuverlässig als Fremdkörper, und genau das ist die Aufgabe einer auffälligen Farbe. Neben dem dunklen Blau entsteht zusätzlich ein Helligkeitskontrast, der die Zeichnung auch aus der Distanz lesbar hält. 🔵 Zwei Einschränkungen. Pinke Pigmente gehören zu den weniger lichtechten; unter dauernder Sonnenlast verlieren sie früher an Sättigung als kühle Töne — ein Helm, der am Spiegel in der Sonne hängt, blasst sichtbar aus. Und Dunkelblau verliert beim Übergang zum Nachtsehen an wahrgenommener Helligkeit; abends trägt vor allem das Pink. 🟢 Zur Pflege ist Glanzlack die dankbarere Oberfläche: Insektenreste lösen sich nach dem Einweichen leicht.
HIRP und ECE 22.06
🟢 Eine Thermoplastschale hat gegenüber Faserverbund einen praktischen Vorteil, der selten genannt wird: Sie ist unempfindlicher gegen die Schläge des Alltags — den Helm am Lenker, den Helm auf dem Tank, den Helm im Rucksack.
🔵 Der Preis dafür ist Gewicht: rund 1,6 kg beim Stinger 2.
Die Sonnenblende, die dieser Helm nicht hat
🔵 Der Vergleich macht es deutlich: Der Braker SV kostet rund 30 € mehr und hat eine Sonnenblende. Der Thunder 4 R SV kostet fast das Doppelte und hat zusätzlich die Pinlock-Scheibe im Karton.
🟢 Wer die Blende braucht, sollte diesen Aufpreis rechnen, statt später nachzurüsten.
MT-V-28B, MT-QVSS und die Pinlock-Scheibe zum Nachkaufen
🔵 Zwei Nachrüstungen, die man beim Stinger 2 gleich mitplanen sollte: die Pinlock®-DKS435-Scheibe für den Winter und ein getöntes Visier für den Sommer. Zusammen rund 50 bis 60 €.
🟢 Beide passen auf dasselbe MT-V-28B-System und wechseln werkzeuglos.
Der MT-MDTC-Verschluss
🟢 Stufenfein statt in Zähnen: Beim MT-MDTC lässt sich die Riemenlänge in sehr kleinen Schritten anpassen. Das ist der Grund, warum ein Ratschenverschluss über verschiedene Kleidungsschichten hinweg funktioniert.
Die doppelte Verzahnung verteilt die Last auf zwei Zähne statt auf einen.
Innenfutter, Passform und Reinigung
🟢 Ein häufiger Fehler beim Anprobieren: Man setzt den Helm zwei Minuten auf und findet ihn bequem. Aufschlussreicher ist, ihn zehn Minuten aufzubehalten — Druckstellen melden sich erst dann.
🟢 Das Futter des Stinger 2 ist herausnehmbar und maschinenwaschbar.
Universeller UCS-Interkomschacht
🟢 Der Vorteil einer markenoffenen Aufnahme zeigt sich beim zweiten Gerät: Markenspezifische Halterungen altern mit dem System, offene Aussparungen nicht. Der UCS-Schacht ist offen ausgelegt.
🔵 Ein Interkom ist nicht enthalten.

Wenn etwas verschleißt
🟢 Ein Vorteil der Thermoplastbauweise: Die Schale hält äußerlich sehr lange. Der Grund für den Austausch nach fünf Jahren ist nicht sie, sondern der EPS-Kern, der durch Schweiß, Wärme und Zeit altert.
🟢 Alle Verschleißteile sind bis dahin einzeln erhältlich.

Take out the washable lining and hand-wash it in lukewarm water. Clean the shell and visor with a soft cloth and water only — never solvents.
