DescriptionThe whole story▼
The most colourful option for the Suomy Stellar 2 is the KASS0VI0 Iridium Rainbow visor, a multi-colour mirror coating whose reflection runs through several hues across the shield. Underneath sits a tint for strong sun, which makes it a daylight-only part: never use it at night, at dusk, in tunnels or in poor visibility. The Stellar 2 is already equipped with an internal sun visor, so a rainbow outer shield is something you add for brilliant days and for the effect, not because the helmet lacks shade.
Colour That Changes With the Light
Where silver stays neutral and gold stays warm, the rainbow coating mixes colours, so it looks different in morning sun, at noon and against a blue sky. It pairs well with multi-colour graphics and turns a plain helmet into something far more lively. Rainbow is the finish people ask about at fuel stops, so expect a few questions about where it came from.
Daylight Duty Only
Plan your day so the rainbow shield comes off before the light goes. Keep a clear visor with you for the ride home. During the day, the Stellar 2's wide inner sun visor, which you operate from outside via a double-pull mechanism, adds or removes shade without stopping.

Shield Facts
Suomy grades it Optical Class 1, the stricter of the distortion classes. The visor is designed for easy removal and refitting, and its tear-off preparation lets you use strips on track or on dusty roads. The supplier describes the surface as scratch-resistant. Even so, mirror coatings reward gentle cleaning: rinse first with lukewarm water, then dab dry with a soft cloth rather than rubbing grit across the shield.
Compatibility Checklist
Suomy Stellar 2: yes. The original Stellar: no. Pinlock insert: not supplied, the Pinlock 120 MaxVision is packed with the helmet. Tear-off strips: available separately. National rules on tinted shields differ, so please check the situation in the countries where you ride.
