How to measure your helmet size correctly: To find the right helmet size, measure your head circumference with a flexible tape measure.
It is important that the tape measure runs around the widest part of the head – only then will you get a correct result.
Place the tape measure at the front, about 1–2 cm above the eyebrows, and run it along the sides above the ears.
At the back, the tape must run over the largest part of the back of the head (not too low on the neck). The tape may run slightly at an angle – what matters is that it sits all the way around the largest points of the head.
Make sure the tape measure sits snugly but does not dig in. Measure 2–3 times for the most accurate result. You can then compare the measured value in centimetres (cm) with our size chart.
Tips for an accurate result
- Keep hair flat (e.g. do not measure over a voluminous hairstyle)
- Keep the tape horizontal, i.e. along the largest circumference
- Do not measure too loosely
- For values between two sizes:
→ usually choose the larger size (depending on helmet model / fit)
Important note on fit
The right helmet should fit firmly without causing uncomfortable pressure points.
A new helmet may feel a little tighter at first, as the inner lining adapts slightly over time.

Long days in the saddle demand a helmet that works as hard as you do — the Shark Skwal Cup in the Speed-Vib BRY graphic is engineered precisely for that. Its Alveotec interior wraps around your head with a softness that stays fresh and pressure-free for hours, while the two-shell sizing architecture ensures a genuinely tailored fit whether you ride in an XS or an XXL. ECE 22.06 certified and built from a polycarbonate shell weighing just 1,587 g (±50 g), this is a helmet that disappears on your head and lets you focus entirely on the ride.
Key Features
- Alveotec interior lining — antibacterial, moisture-wicking and fully removable for machine washing, keeping the fit fresh on multi-day tours
- Two shell sizes for a compact, anatomically accurate fit across the full XS–XXL size run
- Optical Class 1 visor with scratch resistance, UV protection and Pinlock insert included — fog-free clarity in rain, mist and temperature swings
- Integrated drop-down sun visor operated by a thumb slider, eliminating the need to stop and swap lenses in changing light
- Multi-zone ventilation system — crown inlet, chin vent, rear exhaust outlets and EPS airflow channels combine to regulate temperature even on hot summer stages
- Double-D ring fastening for a secure, race-proven closure that stays put at any speed
- Integrated rear spoiler shaped in the wind tunnel for high-speed stability without buffeting
All-Day Comfort in Detail
The Skwal Cup's interior is where Shark has invested the most thought for distance riders. The Alveotec foam is cut to sit evenly across the cheeks and crown without creating the pressure points that cause fatigue over long motorway runs. Glasses wearers benefit from a channel-cut cheek pad design that accommodates most frame widths without pinching. Speaker recesses on both sides mean a communication system drops straight in, and the combined chin curtain and breath guard keep cold air and wind noise noticeably lower than on open-cell liners.
Because the liner is fully removable and washable, you are not managing odour with sprays mid-tour — you simply pull the padding, wash it, and the interior is ready to go again. For riders who cover serious mileage, that practicality is every bit as important as aerodynamics.
Aerodynamics and Ventilation
Shark developed the Skwal Cup's shell profile in a wind tunnel, and the result is a shape that tracks cleanly at motorway speeds without the head-pull that plagues less refined helmets. The integrated spoiler sits flush at the rear and adds meaningful stability from around 100 km/h onwards. The multi-zone ventilation — crown inlet, chin port, rear exhaust vents and internal EPS channels — creates a through-flow that keeps the interior temperature comfortable even in slow traffic, where heat build-up is typically worst.
Visor and Visibility
The Optical Class 1 main visor delivers a wide, distortion-free field of view — essential for reading road surfaces and judging distances accurately. Scratch resistance and UV treatment are built in from the factory. The included Pinlock insert creates a double-glazed barrier against fogging, so visibility holds in cold morning starts, rain showers and tunnel transitions. The integrated sun visor slides down smoothly with one thumb and retracts fully without intruding on the main visor's seal.
Speed-Vib BRY Design
The Speed-Vib BRY colourway pairs red, yellow and blue in a graphic that reads as energetic and deliberate rather than busy. Matte accents contrast with the gloss sections to give the design depth, and Shark's own branding is integrated into the livery rather than applied as an afterthought. On the road or parked up, this is a helmet that draws attention for the right reasons — a rider's helmet with a genuine visual identity.
Size Guide
| Size | Head circumference |
|---|---|
| XS | 53–54 cm |
| S | 55–56 cm |
| M | 57–58 cm |
| L | 59–60 cm |
| XL | 61–62 cm |
| XXL | 63–64 cm |
Measure your head approximately 1 cm above the ears at the widest point to find your correct size. If you are between sizes, opt for the smaller size — the Alveotec liner will settle and adapt over the first few weeks of use.
