Blue with red on the carbon shell is the Terra with the widest value range, and the one that stays legible longest as the light drops — useful on a helmet built for long days through unfamiliar country.

Versatile in two directions — and what the peak costs

🔵 „Adventure flip-up" sounds like a compromise of a compromise, and to a degree it is. What it buys is a single helmet that covers a trip from the motorway to the trail and back, with the chin bar open at every stop in between.

What it costs is weight, noise and a peak that catches air at speed.

Two configurations, one helmet. With the peak fitted it is an adventure flip-up; without it, a touring flip-up with a slightly wide aperture. The chin bar works identically in both.

🔵 The measured difference is about 5 dB of noise — 101 dB with the peak against 96 dB for the peakless sibling.

About the Terra Blue Red graphic

A deep blue ground with a saturated red accent does two jobs at once: the blue absorbs the trail dust and road film that make a bright helmet look neglected over a touring week, while the red keeps the helmet legible in the conditions where dark colours disappear. That combination is more useful on a helmet ridden year-round than either extreme would be. 🔵 The carbon shell here saves 150 g on paper against the composite — a larger gap than on Nexx's touring flip-up, and worth having on a helmet this heavy.

P/J homologation and the Super Locker chin bar

🔵 Practise the one-handed open before you need it. The release sits under the chin bar, it has a safety catch, and finding it in gloves for the first time at a queue is not the moment to learn.

The mechanism is the Super Locker pivot, in stainless steel and special aluminium.

The X-PRO Carbon 3K shell

🔵 Carbon buys 150 g here — three times what it buys on Nexx's touring flip-up, and worth having on a helmet this heavy. The larger gap reflects the extra shell area an adventure helmet carries.

The construction is X-PRO Carbon 3K at 1650 g claimed, in two outer shell sizes.

2042 grams — the number to weigh

🔵 Read the two figures together. 1650 g is Nexx's stripped shell weight; 2042 g is what an independent reviewer measured with everything fitted, which is how you will actually wear it.

Weight scored 1/5 in that test — the worst mark any Nexx helmet received in any category.

X-Sensus Vision, X-SWIFT and two visors

X-SWIFT is the tool-free quick-release: no screws, no base plates to align, nothing to drop in the gravel. On a helmet supplied with two visors, that is what makes the second one worth carrying rather than leaving at home.

🔵 The eye port is 15 % larger than the standard requires, with a sun visor behind the outer one.

Two closable intakes and the Mid Airflow Chamber

🔵 A caution about vent counts. Two intakes sounds thin, and on Nexx's other helmets a similar count has measured anywhere from 1/5 to 5/5 depending on the internal path. Count is not the specification that matters; placement and internal chambers are.

101 decibels — and what the peak costs

🔵 Most perceived helmet noise enters from below the chin bar rather than around the visor, which is why the anti-noise neck roll and the removable wind deflector matter as much as the seals.

Fit both before judging the helmet. The measured figure of 101 dB was taken in standard configuration.

Morpho-Fit interior and F.R.S.

The multi-channel ventilation is built into the liner itself rather than relying on the shell alone — channels moulded through the padding give incoming air a path to your scalp instead of being absorbed by the fabric.

🔵 The fabric is X-Mart Dry, and the independent ventilation score was 4/5.

Where it sits in Nexx's range

🔵 The most useful question is whether you need a flip-up and a peak, because each costs weight independently. If only one matters, a lighter helmet exists for both cases: the X.LIFETOUR for the flip-up, the X.WED3 for the peak.

This one is for riders who genuinely need both, and it is honest about the price in grams.

Comms, cameras and spare parts

Genuine parts matter more on a helmet than on most things, because the visor, the chin-bar mechanism and the retention system are part of what was certified to ECE 22-06 P/J. A pattern part that behaves differently is not the helmet that was approved.
