DescriptionThe whole story▼
Green Copper Matt is the earthy version of the 2027 Evolander graphic: deep forest green and a warm bronze tone laid over a matt carbon X.LIFECOUNTRY, with pale topographic contour lines sweeping across the chin bar and the back of the shell. It is the quietest-looking of the three Evolander colourways and the one that fits most naturally with olive, khaki and brown riding gear.
Because the matt surface and the weight of an adventure flip-up are the two things owners of this helmet talk about most, this page leads with both, and then covers vision, airflow, the chin bar, certification and what comes in the box.
About the Evolander Green Copper Matt finish
The base is a dark bottle green, broken up by bands of copper-bronze across the crown and along the side, and by sections where the carbon weave is visible under a matt clear coat. Thin cream-coloured elevation lines run over the chin and the rear, and the Nexx lettering sits in light grey on the chin bar. The peak is matt black with bronze accents, so it blends into the lower shell rather than standing out.
Matt paint behaves differently from gloss and is worth understanding before you buy. It hides fine scratches and does not show swirl marks, which suits a helmet that gets packed into top boxes and hung on mirrors. In exchange it holds on to grease, sunscreen and insect residue more stubbornly. Clean it with lukewarm water and a mild soap on a soft cloth; never use polish, wax or anything abrasive, because that will leave shiny patches that cannot be reversed.
Weight as a neck load over a riding day
On paper the carbon X.LIFECOUNTRY is quoted by Nexx at about 1,650 g, give or take 50 g, measured as a bare shell. In real use you add the peak, hinge hardware, sun visor, Pinlock lens and wind deflector, so the helmet on your head is heavier than that. Over eight hours this matters. Static mass is only part of it; the larger effect at speed is the peak, which sits ahead of your head and turns every gust and every overtaking truck into a small pull on the neck. On a route with a long motorway leg, take the peak off for that section and refit it at the trailhead — the mechanism is tool-free.
The peak and its extensor
The off-road peak is adjustable and removable, and Nexx supplies a screwless extensor that lengthens it for low-sun riding or rain. Practise removing and refitting it once at home before your trip; doing it for the first time on a gravel shoulder with gloves on is harder than it needs to be. Without the peak the X.LIFECOUNTRY looks and behaves much like a touring flip-up.
X-PRO Carbon and the two shells
Under the Evolander paint is X-PRO Carbon, an aerospace-grade 3K weave, which is the lighter of the two constructions Nexx uses on this model. The smaller outer shell runs from XS to L, the larger from XL to XXXL. Seven sizes from two shells is a fairly coarse split, so someone at the small end of a band will notice a bit more external bulk. If your head measures close to the L/XL boundary, try both on.
Interior comfort for long days
Nexx's Morpho-Fit lining is moulded in three dimensions and covered in X-Mart Dry fabric that moves sweat away from the skin. Cheek pads and the crown liner both remove for washing, which on a multi-week trip is worth more than any feature list. The cheek pads use F.R.S., a fast-release system that lets a first responder take them out without removing the helmet by force. The interior has space for glasses arms.
Ventilation in warm weather
Two intakes, both closable, feed two rear exhausts, and the Mid Airflow Chamber channels the incoming air between shell and liner rather than straight onto the scalp. A separate Air Cumbs chamber sits at the top. On slow technical sections in heat, raising the chin bar is the quickest way to cool down, and the P/J approval means that is legal.
Noise without invented figures
The Silent Travel Seal is a two-layer rubber seal around the visor and around the chin-bar joint. Vortex generators at the chin and dedicated anti-noise cheek pads and neck roll complete the package. We do not publish a decibel figure we cannot back up. Adventure helmets with a peak are rarely the quietest choice at motorway speed, so earplugs belong in your tank bag.
Riding open: P/J and the Super Locker
The chin bar is homologated in both positions under ECE 22-06 P/J. Nexx's Super Locker pivot keeps it in place when raised, an easy-access button opens it with one hand and a safety catch prevents accidental release. Stainless steel and aluminium are used for the locking parts. Besides ECE, the helmet carries DOT FMVSS 218, CCC GB811:2022 and NBR7471:2015. ECE 22.06, mandatory in the EU since January 2024, introduced oblique impacts against an abrasive anvil, more test points and speeds, and checks with accessories fitted. There is no SHARP rating for this model.
Vision and visors
The eye port, which Nexx calls X-Sensus Vision, is about 15 % larger than the regulation requires. The X-SWIFT visor detaches without tools. In the box you find a clear visor with a Pinlock 120 XLT MaxVision anti-fog insert and a second visor tinted Smoke 80 %, and the internal sun visor drops down for glare.

Honest drawbacks
This is a heavy helmet format: a hinge and a peak both add mass, and the X.LIFECOUNTRY has both. Matt paint needs more care to stay clean than gloss. Two shell sizes mean a less precise outer fit than models with three or more. The intercom and camera are not included, only the mounts and preparation. Riders who stay on tarmac may prefer the X.LIFETOUR, which drops the peak.

“A flip front with a peak and dual homologation, so it is legal open or closed. Bennetts are blunt about the weakness: the ventilation is disappointing for an adventure helmet, and that is the axis this category weighs most heavily after the off-road kit.”
