DescriptionThe whole story▼
Neon Yellow: visibility built into an adventure kit
If you ride in fog, at dusk or in heavy traffic, the colour of your helmet does more for you than almost any other piece of kit at this level. This ADV 7.5 in Neon Yellow pairs high-visibility accents with Leatt's dual-sport concept: peak, clear visor, extra wide goggle opening, and a Velocity 2.5 goggle supplied in the kit. It carries ECE 22.06 and DOT approval and Leatt's 360° Turbine Technology for rotational impacts.
About the Neon Yellow finish
Leatt's own file names call this decor High-Viz Yellow, and that describes it well. The main shell is dark: a mix of black and graphite grey panels with a subtle angular pattern. The fluorescent yellow sits in a band along the lower edge, a lightning-shaped flash on the side and in the Leatt logos on chin and brow. In the photos the shell appears glossy, which keeps the colour strong and makes road dirt easy to wipe off. Fluorescent pigments can fade a little after years of strong sun, so storing the helmet out of direct light keeps the yellow vivid. Pair it with a hi-viz jacket and you have a strong signal from the front and side.
Fluorescent yellow works best in daylight and dusk, when ultraviolet light makes the pigment glow; at night it is retroreflective material that makes you visible, so a vest or jacket with reflective strips completes the picture. Clean the yellow areas with water and a mild soap only, since strong solvents can dull fluorescent paint.
Why conspicuity matters on a dual-sport bike
Adventure bikes spend a lot of time on country roads where cars pull out from junctions and farm tracks. "I didn't see the rider" is a familiar sentence after collisions at junctions. A helmet sits at the highest point of rider and bike, so colour there is visible over hedges and car roofs. Yellow-green fluorescent tones contrast well with both grey tarmac and green fields, which is why many riders choose them for touring.
Airflow, liner and long-day comfort
The vents on the 7.5 can be opened and closed, letting you adapt to the climb out of a valley or a cold pass in the morning. The Pro-Fit liner is elastic and shapes itself around your head over time. Both the liner and the cheek pads come out for washing and are treated antimicrobially, which you will appreciate on day five of a tour. Leatt does not state the number of vent openings, so we don't either.
If you sweat a lot, carry a second pair of cheek pads or simply let the removed liner dry overnight at the campsite; synthetic fabric dries fast in the open air, and the antimicrobial treatment keeps it fresh in between.
Four modes for changing terrain
Leatt's four-way setup lets you ride with peak and visor, with peak and goggles, with visor and goggles together, or with just the peak. The visor comes off with a quick-release clip; the supplied mechanism covers seal the hinge holes. That makes the switch between asphalt and gravel a roadside job of a minute or two.
Noise without guesswork
We have no decibel figure for this helmet, and we won't invent one. Leatt developed the shell in the wind tunnel and seals the lower opening with a chin curtain plus cheek pads that close around the neck. A peak always catches some air at speed, so earplugs belong in your jacket pocket.
Choosing your size
The ADV 7.5 uses three outer shells across six sizes. Two sizes per shell is a balanced split: the small end of each pair gets a slightly roomier EPS, the large end a slimmer one.
| Size | Head circumference | Leatt article no. |
|---|---|---|
| XS | 53-54 cm | 1026001500 |
| S | 55-56 cm | 1026001501 |
| M | 57-58 cm | 1026001502 |
| L | 59-60 cm | 1026001503 |
| XL | 61-62 cm | 1026001504 |
| XXL | 63-64 cm | 1026001505 |
Measure with a soft tape just above the eyebrows, take the largest reading, and use the chart.
A correctly sized helmet does not move when you push the chin bar sideways; your skin moves with it. If there is a finger's gap at the temples, go one size down.
How the 7.5 compares within Leatt's ADV range

ECE 22.06: what the test now covers
Since January 2024 every new helmet sold in Europe must be approved to ECE 22.06. The regulation adds many more impact points (eighteen to pick from instead of five), several impact velocities, an oblique impact on an abrasive anvil with a brain injury criterion, and testing of the visor mounted on the helmet. Your DOT label covers the US standard FMVSS 218.
The goggle in the kit
Leatt supplies a Velocity 2.5 goggle with this helmet. The 7.5's eye port is shaped for goggles, so the frame sits without pressure from the shell edges. The lens tint for this kit is not confirmed by Leatt, so we do not name one.
For goggle riding in the wet, tear-offs or a roll-off system are worth considering; we have no confirmation that the Velocity 2.5 takes them, so check Leatt's goggle accessories before buying. On a dry, dusty trail, a goggle simply beats a visor: it keeps the dust out from below and it stays clear when you are working hard.
Things to be aware of
The visor is Pinlock-ready, but the anti-fog lens is not included. Leatt does not list an internal sun visor. A size-specific weight is not published. And there is no independent test of the 7.5 yet. Spare visors in photochromic, Iriz Silver mirror and smoke are available separately, Leatt runs a three-year crash replacement programme, and most aftermarket intercoms fit.
In short: this is a straightforward, well-equipped dual-sport helmet whose main selling point is that you will be seen. Add a Pinlock insert and a smoke visor, and it covers almost any trip from city traffic to forest tracks.
