How to measure your helmet size correctly: To find the right helmet size, measure your head circumference with a flexible tape measure.
It is important that the tape measure runs around the widest part of the head – only then will you get a correct result.
Place the tape measure at the front, about 1–2 cm above the eyebrows, and run it along the sides above the ears.
At the back, the tape must run over the largest part of the back of the head (not too low on the neck). The tape may run slightly at an angle – what matters is that it sits all the way around the largest points of the head.
Make sure the tape measure sits snugly but does not dig in. Measure 2–3 times for the most accurate result. You can then compare the measured value in centimetres (cm) with our size chart.
Tips for an accurate result
- Keep hair flat (e.g. do not measure over a voluminous hairstyle)
- Keep the tape horizontal, i.e. along the largest circumference
- Do not measure too loosely
- For values between two sizes:
→ usually choose the larger size (depending on helmet model / fit)
Important note on fit
The right helmet should fit firmly without causing uncomfortable pressure points.
A new helmet may feel a little tighter at first, as the inner lining adapts slightly over time.

The Alpinestars Supertech R10 in Arius Yellow Fluo Gloss carries ECE 22.06, DOT and FIM homologation — the triple certification that satisfies scrutineers at circuit gates worldwide and sets this helmet apart from road-only alternatives. Beneath its striking fluorescent yellow gloss graphic lies a carbon multi-composite shell engineered in the crucible of MotoGP-level development, designed for riders who demand that every gram of their helmet earns its place at high speed.
Key Features
- ECE 22.06, DOT and FIM homologated — circuit-legal in premier-class racing and on public roads
- Carbon multi-composite shell combining 3K carbon, UD carbon, Aramid and fibreglass for maximum structural rigidity at minimal weight
- CFD-developed aerodynamics validated at race speeds, with interchangeable race and road spoilers included
- Multi-density EPS liner with strategic density zones for controlled energy management across a range of impact scenarios
- Optical Class 1 visor with anti-scratch coating, tool-free quick-change mechanism and Pinlock 120XLT compatibility
- 11-port ventilation system with integrated air channels for effective circulation and anti-fogging performance
- Removable, washable, antimicrobially treated comfort liner with cheek channels routed for a hydration system
Safety Architecture
The Supertech R10 is built around a protection philosophy that goes well beyond standard compliance. The multi-layered carbon multi-composite shell — incorporating 3K carbon, UD carbon, Aramid fibre and fibreglass — delivers controlled energy absorption rather than simple rigidity. Beneath it, the multi-density EPS inner shell is zoned to manage rotational and oblique forces as well as direct impacts, with a low-friction EPS inner surface designed to reduce rotational energy transfer to the rider's head.
Additional safety engineering includes an emergency cheek-pad release system for first-responder access, and an optimised chin area that contributes to impact management in the collarbone region — a detail that reflects the helmet's track-focused development programme. All performance data referenced by Alpinestars relating to ECE threshold exceedance is derived from internal manufacturer testing.
Aerodynamics and High-Speed Stability
Developed with input from Alpinestars' involvement at the highest level of road racing, the Supertech R10's aerodynamic package is not a styling exercise. The helmet ships with two interchangeable spoilers — one tuned for road use, one for circuit — each attached via a patented elastic release mechanism that allows aerodynamic reconfiguration without tools. Side winglets and visor turbulators further refine airflow management, reducing the buffeting and lift that can compromise concentration and neck fatigue during fast track sections or motorway riding.
Ventilation and Comfort
Eleven intake and exhaust ports, connected by internal air channels, drive a ventilation circuit that keeps the rider cool on sustained hard rides and helps prevent visor fogging. Chin ventilation directs air along the inner visor surface, while rear exhaust outlets beneath the spoiler draw warm air out of the helmet efficiently.
The interior is finished with an antimicrobially treated liner that removes fully for washing. Cheek pads include a routed channel compatible with hydration systems — a feature specifically for circuit use where visor removal between sessions is impractical.
Visor System
The Supertech R10 ships with both a clear and a dark-tinted visor, and the tool-free quick-change mechanism makes swapping between them a pit-lane-viable operation. The Optical Class 1 lens standard ensures minimal optical distortion across the full field of view — relevant for accurately judging braking points and apexes at speed. Tear-off pins are pre-fitted, and the Pinlock 120XLT insert (included) provides a reliable anti-fog barrier for track mornings and variable-weather road riding.
Fitment and Compatibility
The Alpinestars Supertech R10 is available in six shell sizes — XS through XXL — built across four distinct shell sizes and four EPS sizes to ensure the fit scales correctly rather than simply adjusting padding thickness. The race-oriented fit is snug by design; riders who wear prescription glasses should note the tight race-fit before purchasing. Bluetooth and intercom system compatibility is conditional on the specific system used and is not officially confirmed by Alpinestars for this model.
